    JOHN ISSLER

    A three-week illness resulted in the death of John haler, 75. yesterday at his late residence, 189 Weber St. E. Deceased was a former well-known taxi driver in New Hamburg and lately had been employed as a machinist at Walker Industries Ltd., Waterloo. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Louisa Brueckner; five sons, Oscar L, Applegate, Mich.: Jacob and George, both of Kitchener; Henry, Tavistock, and John, Oshawa; two daughters, Miss Mary Jane and Mrs. E. (Mabel) Rittenger, both of Kitchener. Two sisters, Mrs. James Boughtflower, Stratford, and Mrs. John Kaufman, Tavistock, also survive as do eight grandchildren.

    A public funeral service will be held at the home of the deceased's daughter, 21 Crescent St., Wednesday at 2:00 pin. which will be followed by a service at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church at 2:30. Rev. John Schmieder will officiate. Internment will be made in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Remains will rest at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until 10.00 am. Tuesday when they will be moved to 21 Crescent St.

    Mr. John Issler has rented the premises formerly occupied by the laundryman, next to Zurbigg's shop, and will be open every Saturday to buy eggs. The highest cash price will to paid for all eggs brought in.

    BOWMAN, Mabel Elizabeth (nee Issler) - Passed away peacefully at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Monday, April 21, 2008 in her 91st year. Lovingly remembered by her two sons, Glenn Rittinger and his wife Isabelle of Ajax and Jim Rittinger of Kitchener; grandsons, Todd Rittinger and his friend Laura, Mark Rittinger and his wife Ana, Michael Rittinger and his friend Laura and granddaughter, Monique Rittinger; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Sofia, Carla, Isabela, Sheryse and Ethan; brother, John Issler and his wife Evelyn of Apple Valley California and brother-in-law, Bruce Fierling of New Hamburg. Predeceased by her husbands, Earl Rittinger (1943) and Joseph Bowman (1986); parents, John Issler (1945) and Louisa (Brueckner) Issler (1961); brothers, Roy (Beulah), Oscar (Millie), Jacob (Elmeta), Henry (Mary), George (Edith), and sister Mary Jane and her husband, Eugene Wheeler; In-law sisters and brothers, Ruth (Art Migliarini and Alf Schiestel), Margaret (Joseph Grandeckie), Evelyn (Fierling) brother-in-law, William (Isobel); nephews Ray Reibling and Nyal Dotzert; nieces, Edith (Pootz) Issler and Marlene (Issler) Dotzert. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Mabel enjoyed employment at Smiles and Chuckles Chocolate Co., W.R. Elliott Precision Machine, St. Matthew's Lutheran Church as secretary for many years, J.M. Schneider and Wilfrid Laurier University before retiring in 1977. She was a life long devoted member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Mabel served as a teacher and superintendent of the Beginner's Department for more than 20 years, as secretary then president of the Altar Guild, Esther Group and Deborah Group of the Evangelical Lutheran Women and as a member of the Church Council. She was also active in The Women's Auxiliary of Waterloo Lutheran Seminary and The Christian Women's Club. In later years, she volunteered as an English language tutor through the Laubach literacy of Canada program. In addition, she assisted in many activities of her church, especially in the Loaves and Fishes Program, quilt knotting and visitation of the shut-ins of St. Matthew's. Mabel's family will receive friends and relatives at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel , 51 Benton at Church St., Kitchener on Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Transfer will be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Kitchener on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 9: 30 a.m. with funeral and committal service to follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Shirley Ruller officiating. Cremation to follow.     ISSLER, Robert (Bob) Passed away peacefully, with family by his side at Sunnyside Home at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Maria Rosa Issler for 17 years. Loving father of Dr. Sandra Issler (Earl McMaster) and Dr. Dale Issler (Dr. H Heather Plint). Dear step-father of Susana Slavnik (Michael) and step- father-in-law of Mark Kok (Jessica). Grand Papa to Ren, Anya, Seth, Takeo, Jaden, Cyrus and Karai, Mia and Emily. Predeceased by his first wife Edith (1997) and his parents Jacob and Elmeta Issler and his step- daughter Laura Kok (2006). Robert retired from the City of Cambridge after 40 years of service in the area of administration. Robert was a kind and generous person who was actively involved in community service and charitable work. Robert's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467. Parish prayers 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017 at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 148 Madison Avenue South, Kitchener followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery following the reception. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph's R.C. Church or St. Vincent de Paul of St. Joseph's Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home). Special thanks to the caregivers at Pioneer Tower, Sunnyside Home for all the excellent care given to Robert.
