    Sidney Weber, was born June 11th, 1868. On March 18th, 1891, he was married to Caroline, daughter of Christian Wanner. They reside on the old homestead with his parents and have had three children, namely: VII Nellie and Elsie (dead) (Twins), and VII Elizabeth."

    "A Woolwich Tp. native, Sidney Weber, 83, died yesterday at the home of his son, Wellington, in Simcoe after a short illness. Mr. Weber had lived in this district until two years ago when he moved to Simcoe.

    Surviving are one son, Wellington of Simcoe; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Nellie) Shuh of RR2 Elmira and Mrs. Ephraim (Edith) Bowman of Ravendale, Sask.; one brother, Israel of Elmira, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    His wife died in 1946. Two daughters also predeceased him..."

    "WEBER - Weber, -- Sidney, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Weber, was born June 11, 1868; died Oct. 16, 1951, at the home of his son (Wellington), Simcoe, Norfolk Co., Ont., after a short illness; aged 83 y. 4 m. 5 d. He was married to Caroline Wanner and together they farmed near Elmira, Ont., until a few years ago. His wife predeceased him in 1946. Five children were born to them: Wellington, Simcoe, Ont.; Elsie, who died in infancy; Nellie-Mrs.Clarence Shub, Elmira, Ont.; Elizabeth, who died in 1931; and Edith--Mrs.Ephraim Bowan, Ravendale, Sask. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was a faithful member of the Elmira, Ont., Mennonite Church until his death, having been one of the pioneers in establishing the work there in 1924. His great desire was to go home to his Lord. The funeral was held Oct. 19 at the Elmira Church, conducted by Oliver D. Snider, assisted by the minister of the First Baptist Church inS imcoe, where he attended services the last few years.     MRS. CLARENCE SHUH

    Mrs. Clarence Shuh, 61, R.R. 3, Elmira, died suddenly at her home Friday night. Born December 6, 1891, she was the former Nelly Weber, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Weber. She was a member of Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church, Elmira, and the W.S.W.S. of the church. She was the past president of the Woolwich Everfaithful W.I.

    Surviving are her husband, one son, Howard. at home; one daughter, Mrs. Smith (Arlene) McDougall, Smithville, one brother Wellington, Simcoe; one sister, Mrs. Ephram Bowman. Riversdale, Sask.; and three grandchildren.

    Funeral was held at the Zion Evangelical Church Monday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. C. B. Heckendorn officiating. The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, until Sunday at 10 a.m. when it was removed to the residence. The body was taken to the church Monday at 1 p.m.

She is survived by her parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother, and many friends who keenly feel the loss of the departed sister. She was a member of the Mennonite Church, always taking a keen and active part in the church and S. S. work. Funeral services were held at Elmira Mennonite Church.     Wellington W. Weber, 6894 Norfolk Street, Simcoe, and formerly of Elmira, died suddenly in Woodstock on Monday, May 10 in his 67th year. Born in Elmira, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Weber, he attended public school here and K-W Collegiate. He was married in Kitchener to Selda Shantz who survives him. He farmed in early life and later owned a dairy business in Elmira. A member of Evangelical United Brethren Church, Kitchener, he was very active as a Sunday school superintendent and teacher. The past member of the Elmira School Board and past president of the Elmira Fair Board, he came to Simcoe in 1944 where he purchased Caswell Dairy. He was president of that company at the time of his death. He was an adherent of first Baptist Church, Simcoe and a member of the Simcoe Rotary Club. Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Raymond A. and Mrs. Robert Good (Jean), both of Simcoe. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Ephraim Bowman of Ravendale, Sask., and eight grandchildren. Two sons predeceased him. The late Mr. Weber is resting at the Veale Funeral Home until removal for public service at First Baptist Church, Simcoe on Thursday, May 13 at 2: 30 pm with Rev. Ottis Davidson officiating, assisted by Rev. Lorne Dorsch of Kitchener. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.

    Howard A. Shuh, peacefully, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, June 13, 2008 at Winston Park Retirement Home, Kitchener, Howard Shuh, in his 83rd year, of Elmira. Beloved husband of Katie (Pauls) Shuh for almost 52 years. Loving father of Bruce and Terry Shuh of Waterloo, Mary and John Goerzen of Waterloo, Glenn and Corinne Shuh of Elmira, Robert and Lisa Shuh of Elmira. Dear grandpa of Melissa and Denis and Brian; Jeff and Rebecca; Alanna and Nathan; Stephanie, Emily, Leah and Timothy. Brother of Arlene McDougall of Smithville, Ontario. Predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Nellie Shuh; his first wife, Alice Gies; two daughters, Barbara and Carol in infancy. Howard farmed at RR 2, Elmira. He was a Co-Operators insurance agent for many years, a former member of Woolwich Council and a founding member of Waterloo Mennonite Brethren Church. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira today, Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 1-4 p.m. At noon on Monday, June 16, 2008 transfer will be made to Waterloo Mennonite Brethren Church, 245 Lexington Road, Waterloo for funeral service at 2 p.m. followed by interment in Elmira Union Cemetery. In his memory, donations to 100 Huntley Street or Camp Crossroads would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.

    A private funeral service was held Friday afternoon at the home of her parents.

    Rev. C. B. Heckendorn of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, Elmira, officiated. Burial will be in the Elmira Cemetery.

    Barbara Ruth Shuh, seven, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Shuh of RR 2, Elmira, died on the way to hospital in London, Ont., Wednesday night, August 12, after she was struck by a car almost in front of her home on Highway 86 a mile east of town. The little girl died of brain injuries in an ambulance between Kitchener and Stratford. Her parents were following the ambulance. Provincial police said Barbara had been running along the highway with a friend, Charlotte McDougal of Smithville. They were returning home about 5 p.m., after visiting a farm about a half mile away.

    Charlotte said they had been running through a cornfield but had decided to go on the road when the stalks hurt their faces. Charlotte said Barbara ran in front of a car driven by John Wallace Scott of Elora. Dr. John E. Thompson was called and advised taking the injured little girl to a specialist in brain surgery at Victoria Hospital, London. Surviving besides her parents are two brothers, Bruce and Glenn and one sister, Mary, all at home. The body rested at Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, until Friday noon. The funeral was conducted at 2: 30 p.m. at the Evangelical United Brethren Church. The Rev. J. Wesley Siebert officiated assisted by the Rev. J.J. Toews of the Mennonite Brethren Church, Kitchener. Burial was in Elmira cemetery.
