    GATSCHENE, Bertha - At her residence, Heritage Hose, St. Jacobs, on Tuesday, April 15, 1980, Bertha Gatschene, age 87 years, formerly of 47 Willow St., Waterloo.

    She was born in New Hamburg and a member of St. Michael's RC Church, Waterloo, the Catholic Women's League and the Carmel of St. Joseph's Guild.

    Daughter of the late John and Anna Schultz; wife of the late Leo Gatschene; mother of Clarence and Gerald, both of Kitchener, Richard of waterloo, grace (Mrs. Delton Wagner) of Moncton, Ont., Ruth (Mrs. Lloyd LaCombe), Marjorie (Mrs. Adam Pietraszko), Teresa (Mrs. Harold Boehmer), all of Waterloo, Elvira (Mrs. Roy Ueberschlag), Mrs. Eleanor Reck, Mrs. Marcella Litwiller, all of Kitchener, Yvonne (Mrs. Jack Schaefer) of Aurora; sister of Herman of Stratford; also survived by 29 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren, predeceased by one brother, six sisters, two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

    Rested at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. South, Waterloo, for the parish prayers Thursday at 8 pm. Prayers Friday at 10:30 am, followed by the funeral mass at St. Michael's RC Church, Waterloo, Friday at 11 am. Interment Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.

    WAGNER, Grace - Passed away suddenly at her residence, RR 1 Monkton on Wednesday January 3, 2007. She was born 91 years ago in New Hamburg, a daughter of the late Leo and Bertha (Schultz) Gatschene. Grace was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Monkton, a 4-H leader, LWML member and an Avon representative for over 40 years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, family gatherings and was blessed with a long healthy life. Beloved wife of the late Del Wagner who predeceased her in 1982. Loving mother of Ron and Joan of Elmira and their children, Randy (Melissa) and Rob (Joyanne), Karen and John Denstedt of Stratford and their children, Trevor (Joanne), Todd (Amanda) and Chad, Dennis and Liz of RR 1 Monkton and their children, David (Christina), Dale (Connie) and Stephanie. Also remembered by 12 great grandchildren; her sisters, Marjorie Pietraszko of Waterloo, Yvonne Schaeffer of Aurora; her brother, Gerry Gatschene of Kitchener and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers and five sisters. Grace's family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at Peebles Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood, on Friday January 5, 2007 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Monkton on Saturday January 6, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Marvin Bublitz officiating. Interment will follow in Redeemer Lutheran Church Cemetery, Monkton. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Monkton would be appreciated by the family and can be arranged by calling the funeral home at 519-356-2382.
