    Suddenly, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, on Sunday, Dec. 17, 1972, age 64 years, Art Rickert of 648 Frederick St., Kitchener; employed with Rickert Dairy until 1949 when he opened and operated the Town and Country Restaurant at Edna and Victoria Sts. until 1961, moving to his present location at 305 Lancaster St. W.; attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church and was a 25 year member of the Sales and Advertising Club.

    A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Rickert; survived by his wife, the former Beatrice Hatt; one son, Jack; one daughter, Nancy (Mrs. J. M. (Mac) Torrance, both of Kitchener; five brothers, Earl Rickert.; Arnold, Roy, Gordon and Arnold Schnarr, all of Kitchener; four sisters, Wilda (Mrs. Bert Tomlinson) of Kitchener, Verneeda (Mrs. Carl Gracey) of Tillsonburg, Mabel (Mrs. Nelson Paepcke) and Gloria (Mrs. Edward Hentges), both of Kitchener; also survived by five grand-children.

    Resting at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton St., Kitchener, after 7 p.m. today, until noon on Wednesday when removal will be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church for service and committal at 2: 30 p.m. Interment to follow in Woodland cemetery, Rev. L. E. Wentzlaff officiating.

    SCHNARR, Roy K. 1918 - 2011 Roy (Pa) passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on January 18, 2011 at age 92. Beloved husband of the former Eleanor (Dolly) Gerth for over 70 years. Wonderful father of Bryan (Linda) and Diane Jones (Douglas). Pa will be remembered with joy by his grandchildren with whom he shared unconditional love and support; Bradley Schnarr (Rashelle), Lindsay Graham (Andrew), Jennifer Schnarr (Andrew Renner), Ashley Koets (David), Andrew Jones (Linley), and Courtney Jones. Memories of Pa will be shared with his great-grandchildren; Kyler, Kaden, Madison (deceased), Morgan (deceased), Ashlynn, Dylan, Benjamin, McKenzie, and Emily. Roy was formerly with B.F. Goodrich for 45 years in supervisory and management positions until retiring in 1981. He was a long time member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Kitchener. Roy and Dolly enjoyed many summers in Southampton and later years at Waterpark and Luther Village.     RICKERT, Douglas Joseph - March 27, 1938 - September 12, 2006. It is with much sadness for Doug's family to announce the loss of "The Best". Best husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. His soul left this earth with true faith and dignity after a year of pain and suffering from his cancer. He will be remembered with eternal love by his wife of 45 years, Vivian (LaFlamme). His humble kindness and example are remembered by his children Melanie (Peter) Stern, Waterloo; Francine (Greg) Schlosser, Windsor; Andrew (Jennifer) Rickert, Kitchener; and Anthony (Mona) Rickert, Mississauga. His fun, generosity and teaching ways are remembered by his grandchildren Matthew, Timothy and Rachel Stern; Paul, Mark and Michael Schlosser; Daniel, Stephen and Brian Rickert; and Emily, Sophie and Holly Rickert. Lovingly remembered by his only sister Donna (Peter) Breck and their children Greg, Cynthia and Lisa, Michigan, U.S.A. Deeply missed by his mother-in-law Rose (LaFlamme) Uttley, his brother-in-law Jim LaFlamme, his sisters-in-law Lorraine Daub, Claire LaFlamme, Joan (Mike) Roga, Marilyn (Larry) Culliton, Emilie (Doug) Totzke, Kitchener-Waterloo and Elaine (Chuck) Maziarz-Wilkin, West Montrose. Doug taught at South Huron District High School, Exeter and Preston High School for 35 years. He also taught at Wilfrid Laurier University. He was highly respected and regarded for his integrity and intelligence which he readily shared with anyone. His years of retirement were spent doing the things he loved on his hobby farm, his love of nature and his worldly travels with his beloved Vivian. Doug never lost faith in God and was fearless and prepared for eternal life. Doug will be missed by his buddies, Dennis, Peter, Gord, Gary, Brack and Bob and friends including Peggy and Pat Wallace, Ottawa, ten godchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and his cousin Karen (Albert) Vredeveld and children, Stratford. Predeceased by his parents, Earl Grey and Catherine (Koebel) Rickert, three brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law. Visitation will be held at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467, Thursday (tonight) 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's RC Church on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 10 a.m. with Father William LaFlamme, Father Ernest Varosi and Father Ron Voisin (their Pastor at St. Boniface, Maryhill) officiating. Funeral prayers with Father Voisin at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon. As an expression of sympathy a donation to Lisaard House, Cambridge would be much appreciated and may be placed through the funeral home. Doug will always live on in our memories. Thank you for the kindness and superb care given to him during his stay at Grand River Hospital (8th floor nurses), his light-hearted, hopeful care during his chemo at the Grand River Cancer Centre and finally his devoted and passionate attention at Lisaard House will always be cherished by his family. Thank you also for the decisions made by all doctors and nurses involved with Doug's illness. His visits from Father Ron Voisin, Father William LaFlamme and Father Ernie Varosi were precious gifts from God. Last but not least, thank you for the hope and faith given to Doug from his devoted relatives and friends through all the cards of prayers, wellness and hope.

    Judy (nee Rickert) McLean in her 41st year was the beloved wife of Keith McLean of Kitchener. Loving mother of Maria and her husband Grant Gustavel of London, Joshua, Natalie and Jessica Teutsch all of Kitchener. Step-mother of Heather, Nicole and Kendra. Dear grandmother of Gage Gustavel. Dear daughter of Marilyn of Kincardine and the late Jack Rickert (1999). Dear sister of John and his wife Cindy Rickert of Kitchener, Donna and her husband Mike Collins of Grimsby. Judy will be missed by her nieces and nephews Brittany, Brent, Spencer, Wesley, Michael and Daniel. Great-aunt of Michael Rickert. Judy will be missed by her many aunts, uncles and cousins.
    Judy was employed at Clarica and was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

    Judy's family will receive friends from 7-9PM Saturday, March 8, 2003 and on Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9PM at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (749-8467).

    Transfer will be made to Holy Cross Lutheran (322 East Ave., Kitchener) on Monday, March 10, 2003 at 1:00 PM for service at 2:00 PM.
