Johnston, John A. (Jack) - Peacefully, on Wednesday, July 3, 1991, at St. Mary's Hospital, Jack Johnston, aged 89 years, of 15 William St., Elmira. Jack was born July 2, 1902, in Lucknow, Ont. Beloved husband of Elvera (Hofstetter) Johnston; dear father of Shirley and Bob Soehner of Elmira; Marilyn and Dr. James Goodwin of Gravenhurst; dear Papa to Bill, Thomas, Greg and Randy Goodwin, Cindi Conlon, Tami Redpath and Todd Soener and great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Ian, Andrew and Emily Conlon. Brother of Isabelle Lindsay of London, Ont. Predeceased by his parents; one sister, Jean Price of Goderich and one brother, Peter of Lucknow. Jack was a member of Glenrose Masonic Lodge No. 628 AF & AM. Friends may call at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira after 2 p.m. Friday, where the family will receive their friends (Friday) 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. At 9 a.m. on Saturday, transfer will be made to Gale Presbyterian Church, Elmira for funeral service at 11 a.m., with Rev. John Boyne officiating, followed by internment in Elmira Union cemetery. In his memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, as expressions of sympathy. The Glenrose Lodge No, 628 AF & AM will conduct a memorial service on Friday evening at 6: 30 p.m. at the funeral home.
