    Notes:

    Brubacker. - Noah Brubacker was born June 30, 1904; died at the home of his father-in-law neat Elmira, Ont., Dec. 23, 1931; aged 27 y. 5 m. 23 d. He was united in marriage to Nancy Hoffman. He departed this world, leaving to mourn, his beloved wife, parents, 1 brother, and 5 sisters. His death was caused by paralysis which had stricken him helpless for eight months. He had suffered a great deal in this time, but bore it all patiently until the reaper came that day. He was a faithful member of the Mennonite church, remaining true until death. Funeral services were held Dec. 25, 1931, at the South Peel church, Ont., conducted by Bros. Jessie and Henry Bowman. May God comfort the bereaved sister who so patiently attended him during his illness.

    Beloved wife and friends so dear,
    Weep not for me, I have gone home,
    Never, never more to roam."

    Death occurred at the KW Hospital this morning of Mrs. Annie Martin, wife of Christian F. F. Martin, RR1 Waterloo. A native of the Hawkesville area, where she was born Oct. 31, 1909, Mrs. Martin was a d/o Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brubacher. Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by four sons, Henry, Gerald, Marvin and Adam, and one daughter, Florence, all at home. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Eli Frey of Wallenstein; Mrs. Mose Metzger of RR2 Wallenstein, Mrs. Isaac Frey of Hawkesville, and a brother Tobias Brubacher of RR1 Waterloo.     Alvin Frey, 85 years, of Mitchell, Manitoba, formerly of Landmark, MB, passed away on April 18, 2013, at 12: 15 A.M. at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach.

    Funeral services will be held at Landmark Christian Fellowship, 172 Main Street, Landmark, on April 22, 2013 at 1: 00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Prairie Rose Cemetery in Landmark. A devotional time and viewing will be held at 4: 00 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at the Landmark Christian Fellowship. The leadership of Landmark Christian Fellowship will conduct the memorial service and the viewing.

    Alvin was born in Waterloo County, Ontario, on October 12, 1927. Alvin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lydian (Martin) Frey. Son Paul and Rhoda (Hartzler) Frey, their children Mark and Leticia (Santiago) Frey; Irvin and Marcia (Frey) Krause; and Michelle Frey and their grandchildren Ava, Maria and Owen Krause. Son Larry and LaVonne (Shenk) Frey, their children Philip and Jennifer (Frey) Wiebe; and Justin and Cathy (Klassen) Frey; and grandchildren Emma, Sara and Simon Wiebe; and Avery, Carson and Neela Frey. Son Steven and Theresa (Fehr) Frey, (Carol Barclay) and Steve's children James and Jessica (Gerbrandt) Frey; Diana (Frey) and Nathan Stahl; Laura (Frey) and Dustin Reimer and grandchildren Ariel and Jude Frey; Theodore and William Reimer; and Josephine Stahl; as well as Theresa's children Jarrod, Beth and Aaron and Beth's son Rowan Fehr. Daughter Ruthann (Frey) and Bill Harley, their children Tanya (Hoogendoorn) and Carlon Yoder, Ashley Snyder, Christopher Snyder, Cesar and Melissa (Harley) Gonzalez; and grandchildren Clara, Avner and Cosette Yoder and Keilan Gonzalez. And son Calvin.

    Alvin is also survived by a brother Leonard and his wife Mildred Frey and by a sister Marie and her husband Donald all of southern Ontario; as well as nieces and nephews and other extended family in southern Ontario and in the Steinbach area of Manitoba. He was predeceased by his brother Earl Frey of Steinbach, Manitoba.

    METZGER, Lloyd B. 1927 - 2013 Passed away of natural causes at Pinehaven Nursing Home, Waterloo on Friday, May 17, 2013. Predeceased by his wife Mary Ann (nee Gingrich) in 2004. Loving father to Bruce and Camille Metzger, Jim and Susan Metzger, Sharon and Bruce Snyder, Ross Metzger, Brian Metzger, and Myrna Metzger and John Anderson. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Jamie, Megan, Benjamin, Kirk, Kyle and great-grandchildren, Abby, Leah and Heidi. Lloyd is survived by two brothers, Moses (Adeline) Metzger and John (Anna) Metzger and three sisters-in-law, Fern Metzger, Dorothy (Stan) Foell and Doris Metzger. Predeceased by his parents, Moses and Priscilla (nee Brubacher) Metzger and three brothers, Harold, Albert and Martin Metzger. Lloyd farmed north of Waterloo from 1950-1970. After moving from the farm, he held farm-related sales positions. He delivered rural mail for several years before taking a custodial job with the Waterloo Region District School Board, where he worked until his retirement in 2002. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Lloyd during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, May 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 10: 30 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Bruce Sweet from Emmanuel United Church, Waterloo officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home's Fireside Reception Room with interment at Memory Gardens, Breslau after the reception. Beloved husband of Fern (Gingrich) Metzger for over 57 years. Devoted father to Sheryl and Aden Frey of Millbank, Ron and Merri-Lee Metzger of RR #2 Wallenstein, Robert and Stephanie Metzger of Highland Grove. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren the late Rebecca (1997), Jessica and Matthew; Kati and Brendan; Zachary and Gregory. Brother of Lloyd of Waterloo, Moses and Adeline of Listowel, John and Anna of Napanee and sisters-in-law Doris Metzger and Dorothy Foell. Predeceased by his parents Moses and Priscilla (Brubacher) Metzger, and two brothers Bert and Martin. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Floradale Mennonite Church, 22 Florapine Road on Friday, July 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Harold's life and faith will be held at the Floradale Mennonite Church on Saturday, July 17th at 1 p.m. with Pastor Fred Redekop officiating.
