    A. C. Heller Dies After Brief Illness

    A retired jeweler, Alfred C. Heller, 83, of 96 Charles St. E., died at K-W Hospital, yesterday, following a brief illness. Born in Kitchener, a son of the late Mr, and Mrs. John Heller, he started in the jewelry business with his brothers, at a King Street store, forty-one years ago. He started his own business on Queen Street South. He turned this business over to his sons on retirement, eight years ago. Mr Heller was a charter member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and served on the church council, from 1919 to 1921 He was one of the original members of the radio committee of the church. He was a member of the 1OOF and the Kitchener Lawn Bowling Club. Mr Heller played with the original Kitchener Ranger football team, more than 60 years ago. His marriage to the former Rose Berner, who survives, took place in Kitchener in 1904. Also surviving are two sons, Wilfred and Ott, both of Kitchener: two daughters, Mrs. Edgar (Mildred) Gimbel of Kitchener and Mrs. Frank (Lillian) McCormick of Elmira: a brother, Adolph of Waterloo and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Three brothers and four sisters, predeceased him. The body is at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, until 12:30 p.m., Saturday, when removal will be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, for service, at 2 p.m. Rev. Dr. John Schmieder will conduct the service. Interment will be in, Woodland Cemetery.

    At St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, on Saturday, Nov. 1, 1980, following a lengthy illness, age 75 years, the former Mildred Heller of 48 Archer Place, Kitchener. A member of the Lutheran Church of the Reformation. Daughter of the late Alfred Heller and Rose Berner. Wife of Edgar Gimble; mother of Thomas of Kitchener and sister of Lillian (Mrs. Frank McCormick) of Elmira; grandmother of Wendy (Mrs. Jesper Jorgensen), Brian and Jennifer. Predeceased by two brothers, Wilfred and Erhardt (Ott). Visitation at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton Si, Kitchener. Funeral and committal services will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m., Rev. Andrew Paulsen officiating. Interment to follow in Woodland cemetery.

    Wilf Heller dies; former sportsman

    Clarence (Wilf) Heller of 126 Third Ave., former Kitchener jeweller and sportsman, died Saturday, at St. Mary's Hospital, suddenly of a heart attack. He was 64. Born in Kitchener, he was a son of Mrs. Rosa Heller and the late Alfred Heller. He owned and operated Heller Jewelry Store, until his retirement, 10 years ago. As a young man he played hockey, with the Kitchener Greenshirts and then as a professional, with the Newark, Montreal Canadiens and Syracuse, teams. An eye injury ended his hockey career. He also coached the K-W Dutchmen, for a short period. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, the K-W Press Club and was a past president of Rockway Golf Club. Surviving are his wife, the former Florence Saunders; one son, Jon of Kitchener; one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Nan) Fischer of Kitchener; one brother, Erhard (Ott) of Kitchener; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Lillian) McCormick of Elmira and Mrs. Edgar (Mildred) Gimble of Kitchener; and five grandchildren. The body will be at the Schreiter Sandrock Funeral Home, until noon on Tuesday, when removal will be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, for service, at 2 p.m. Rev. Theodore Schaffer will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery.

Former owner of Heller's Jewelry Store and an inspector of B&W Heat Treating Limited. He played professional hockey for the New York Rangers for 15 years and coached for more than 10 years for various semi-pro teams. An active player for the original Kitchener Old timers until illness forced his retirement. Son of the late Alfred Heller and Rose Berner. Husband of Kate Reeve; father of David Arthur of Stratford and brother of Lillian (Mrs. Frank McCormick) of Elmira and Mildred I(Mrs. Edgar Gimbel) of Kitchener. Predeceased by one brother, Wilfred. Visitation at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton St., Kitchener until noon today, when transfer will be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, for funeral service at 2 pm, Rev. Harold Brill officiating Interment to follow in Memory Gardens.
