    WOOSTER -- Born in Petersburg, Ontario, to John and Matilda (Swartzentruber) Roth on Sept. 1, 1927, and lived a rich full life.She attended Ontario Mennonite Bible School and studied two years at Eastern Mennonite College, Harrisonburg, Va.In her eighth summer of Voluntary Service, she managed Camp Ebenezer, where she met Jack Miller. He became her husband on June 12, 1954. The two enjoyed ten summers at Camp Luz, with Jack as manager and Martha as cook.Martha was very active in church work, especially enjoying the Mennonite Women's group. She was church historian almost 20 years and taught Sunday school and Bible school.Her hobbies were oil painting, embroidering pictures, traveling with her husband, flower arranging and all manner of crafts.She was a homemaker who worked at Wooster High cafeteria for 18 years and St. Mary and Grant Street schools. She loved quantity cooking at church, Camp Luz and Meals Together. She loved to entertain.She is survived by her children, Gloria (Mark) Wilson of Wooster, Brian (Jane) Miller of New Market, Va., Tim (Katie) Grigg-Miller of Silver Lake, Brenda Miller of Orrville; siblings, Mildred Hauder of Milford, Neb., Arthur (Marjorie) Roth of Julesburg, Colo., Vernon (Betty) Roth of Breslau, Ontario, Clare Roth of Petersburg, Ontario; and brother-in-law, John Holst of New Dundee, Ontario; her spiritual sister, Geneva (Vernon) Meyer of Wooster; and numerous nieces and nephews.Martha said she sometimes had to marvel at how wonderful her grandchildren are. Amy and Ted Wilson; Josh, Caleb and Mandy Miller; and Halle and Chloe Grigg-Miller have all been dearly loved.Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; a sister, Beatrice Holst; two brothers-in-law; and a niece.Viewing will be Friday, Oct. 24, from 6-8 p.m. The service will be Saturday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. Both will be at Smithville Mennonite Church.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smithville Mennonite Church, designated for the Mennonite women's group or the library.She went to be with the One who loves her best on Oct. 20, 2008. She shall be sorely missed.Custer-Glenn Funeral, 2284 Benden Drive, Wooster, is handling arrangements.
