    Daniel L. Weber," was born April 1st, 1849. He was married to Sallie Hagey (No. 3842) who died March 27th, 1895, and resides at Chicopee where he is engaged in manufacturing woolen goods. To them were born ten children."

    D. L. WEBER

    Many friends and relatives will regret to learn of the passing of D. L. Weber, a well known and highly respected resident of Chicopee, which occurred at his home on Sunday morning, after a few months illness. Deceased who was aged 75 years, resided in Chicopee, for the past 47 years. For many years he conducted the Chicopee Woollen Mills and made many friends. He was a faithful member of the United Brethren Church, at Centreville. There survive a sorrowing wife, three sons and two daughters, namely, Allen of Sudbury, Collin of Kitchener, Norman of Chicopee, Mrs. W. Wright of Sheffield and Mrs. H. Horner of Kitchener. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon, from the late residence and was largely attended. A simple but impressive service was held at Hagey's church and interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

    MRS. WILLIAM WRIGHT

    SHEFFIELD , May 13, Mrs. William Wright of this village passed away at her home yesterday after an illness of ten months duration. The late Mrs. Wright, who was before her marriage, Marion Weber, daughter of the late, Daniel L. Weber of Chicopee, is survived by her husband; three sons, Wilbur of Aurora and Harold and Stanley at home, one daughter, Myrtle, at home, three brothers, Allan and Norman of Preston and Collin of Kitchener and one sister, Mrs. Herbert Horner, of Kitchener. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2: 30 o'clock, with services at the home and thence to the United Church at Sheffield. Burial will be in Hagey's cemetery, near Preston.

    At the K-W Hospital, on Saturday, April 27, 1974, after a brief illness, Collin Hagey Weber, of 118 Fyfe Ave. and formerly of Courtland Ave., age 92 years; born in the Village of Chicopee, a son of the late Daniel Weber and the former Sally Hagey, a lifelong resident of the Twin City area and formerly operated a grocery store on Courtland Avenue East, for many years. Mr. Weber was a member of the Stanley Park United Brethren Church and the Waterloo Historical Society. Husband of Frieda Stieler, who predeceased him in 1961, father of Grace (Mrs. Mills Ogram) and Iva Weber, both of Kitchener, Alice (Mrs. Werner Weland) of Burlington, Norma (Mrs. Orville Kern) of Denver, Colo., Stanton of Peterborough, Howard of Sarnia and Rev. Burton Weber of Huntington, Indiana; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, also survive. Mr. Weber was the last surviving member of his family, predeceased by four brothers and six sisters. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. West, Kitchener afternoon on Sunday, until noon on Tuesday, when removal will be made to the Stanley Park United Brethren Church, for the service at 2: 30 p.m., with Rev. C. K. Nicholson officiating. Interment, Hagey Cemetery, Preston.

    Colin Weber dies; was civic watchdog

    Colin H. Weber, 92, of 118 Fife Ave., Kitchener, a long-time civic watchdog and unsuccessful Kitchener aldermanic candidate in several elections, died today at K-W Hospital, after a brief illness. Mr. Weber, who once operated a grocery store on Courtland Avenue near the J. M. Schneider Ltd. plant, was also a frequent contributor to The Record's Letters to the Editor column. In his campaigns and his letters he consistently pressed for tighter control of civic spending. He was a member of the Waterloo Historical Society. Mr. Weber was born in the village of Chicopee, now part of the City of Kitchener, and spent all his life in the Twin Cities. He was a member of Stanley Park United Brethren Church. His wife, the former Frieda Stieler, died in 1961. He is survived by three sons and four daughters. The funeral will be Tuesday.

    PRESTON\emdash Norman H. Weber, 75, of 423 Dover St. South, Preston, died today at South Waterloo Hospital after a short Mr. Weber was born in Waterloo Township near here and had lived here since and he had been a textile worker for many years at George Pattinson Ltd. woollen mill here. he was a member of St. Paut's United Church, an elder, member of church men's club, and a member of Golden Rule Bible class. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs, Daniel Weber, Surviving is his wife, the former Mildred Becker, one son, Dr. L. George of Toronto, and two daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Hope) Jackson of Atood and Mrs. David (Faith) Bauman of Godhra, India; one brother, Collin of Kitchener and four grandchildren. The body will be at Stager-Barthel Funeral Home until noon Friday and will be moved to St. Paul's United Church for service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Ham's Cemetery here. Rev. A. I. Waters of St. Paul's United Church will officiate.

    In loving memory of the Rev. Hope Erna Jackson, who passed away in her 81st year on Monday, June 23, 2003, at the Espanola General Hospital, after a two year battle with cancer.

    Beloved wife of the Reverend Arthur, (predeceased 1978).

    Loving sister of (twin) Faith Erma Bauman (husband David) of Lorain, Ohio and L. George Weber (wife Kathleen Murray-Weber) of Toronto. Loving aunt of Mark Bauman (Janice), Philip Bauman (Christina), Mark Weber, and Krista Alcantara (Rene). Born near Preston, (now Cambridge), daughter of the late Norman H. Weber and Mildred (Becker).

    Hope is also survived by her husband's first family, Pat, Ken, Gwen and Verna; and Hope's long time friend Pierre Pichette. Hope leaves behind what she often referred to as "Her Family", the people of Massey Pastoral Charge of the United Church of Canada, and the members of the Sudbury Presbytery and Manitou Conference.

    She was president of Manitou Conference from 1985 to 1986. Hope was very active with her sisters in Christ the members of the U.C.W. She served in many positions in the local, Presbyterial and Conference levels. Hope had many friends and admirers among the Massey Spanish and Walford Communities. She was well known throughout north eastern Ontario, and beyond, for her services with the church.

    She was an active member of many organizations both at the local and district levels, including the local Agricultural and Horticultural Societies, The Woman's Institute, The Massey Players, the Library Board, the local food bank, and Community maintaining the Massey Interchurch Council. She not only supported its aims since its inception in the late 1970's but showed her love for ecumenism in her daily life. Among other Honours, Hope was a recipient of a "Queen's Jubilee Award", and was selected to receive an Honorary Fellowship of Huntington University.

    The Rev. Hope Jackson started her career in the Ministry in Gypsumville, Manitoba in 1950. After obtaining her M. Div. and ordination in 1958, she served as minister in Kingston and River John in N.S., Walter's Falls and Massey Ontario. Hope retired in 1987 and remained active in the local Charge, and was named Minister Emeritus. Hope will be missed by her family and friends and relatives for her "Love for God", her "enthusiasm for life" and her "infections laugh". Visitation will take place at the Walford Community Hall, Walford Ontario on Thursday, June 26, 2003 from 2-9 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral services will be held at the Walford Community Hall, Walford on Friday, June 27, 2003 at 12:30 p.m.

    Following cremation, interment will take place at the Hagey Cemetery, at (Preston), Cambridge, Ontario.

    Donations to the M&S Fund of the United Church of Canada, or to the Hope Jackson Memorial Fund/Massey Pastoral Charge c/o St. Andrew's Congregation of the U.C. or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME LTD., Espanola, Ontario.
