Passed away peacefully at Huntsville Hospital at the age of 83. Beloved wife of Albert (Ab) Kropf for 60 years. Loving mother of David (Karen) of Katrine, Kristine Meyer (Allen) of Dublin, and Lorilee Darwen of Waterloo. Dear grandmother to Joshua Darwen. Predeceased by her parents H.V. and Frieda (nee Zinkan) Hoffmeyer and her cousin Frieda Harrett. Ruth was a long time member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and was very active in the loaves and fishes program. Ruth's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral service 11 am on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 54 Benton St. Kitchener followed by a reception at the church. Pastor David Malina officiating. Interment will take place at Williamsburg Cemetery following the reception. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Matthews Lutheran Church or The Huntsville Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
