    Edgar Snyder - Passed away suddenly at St. Mary's General Hospital, Dec. 16, born in Wilmot Township 77 years ago, resident of Baden for 52 years. Formerly of the Canadian Blower and Forge, he retired in 1965. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ephriam Snyder. Surviving are his wife, the former Matilda Miller; three sons, Gerald, Hagersville; Robert, Baden; Claude, New Hamburg; two daughters, Mrs. Wesley (Joyce) Gregory, Arbutus, Md., Mrs. Wilfred (Selda) Shantz, St. Agatha; three sisters, Mrs. Elmina HoIwel and Mrs. Clara Schmidt, both of Baden; Mrs. Percy (Margaret) Hofstetter, Plattsville, 17 grandchildren. Predeceased by one son in infancy and two brothers. Will rest at the Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home, New Hamburg, after noon on Saturday. Funeral services on Monday at the Livingstone Presbyterian, Church, Baden, at 2: 30 pm. Temporary entombment Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg.

    SNYDER, Gerald Edgar Peacefully at Norcliffe Life Care Centre on Monday, February 1, 2010 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's, Jerry Snyder, in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Margaret (Brohman) for 62 years. Dear father of Brian (Eileen), Linda, Barry (Barb), Kim (Wilma), Paul (Nancy) and Michele (Pete). Dearly loved Grandpa/Papa to Mark (Kristin), Jill (Shaun), Sarah, Caitlin, Jodi (Paul), Krista (Andrew), Landon, Charity-Rae, Cody, Ryan, Ashley, Hannah, Zachary and Zane. Loved Great-Papa to Jacob, Braden and Tyler. Jerry was predeceased by his brothers Claude and Robert Snyder, his sisters Selda Shantz and Joyce Gregory and is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry is also survived by sisters-in-law Jeanette Anderson (Garth) and Florence Hales (Playford) and predeceased by Helen Steffler, Bertha Noonan, Fran Clements, Catherine, George, Andy and James Brohman. Over a period of more than fifty years, Jerry worked in the poultry business building Bray Chicks of Hagersville and later raising hatching egg chickens and broiler chickens on the family farm. Over the years he participated in community service clubs such as the Kinsmen and the Lions, but he was most committed to the Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th Degree Knight. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the Roman Catholic Church and Separate school system tirelessly working to raise money for the new St. Mary's Church and School in Hagersville. He enjoyed his years on the Roman Catholic School Board, some of it as the Chairman. He sat on the Land-Use Planning Committee, a precursor to the current municipal zoning bodies. Among many other volunteer activities he was also well known as a driver for local cancer patients. Visitation for Jerry will be held at the Hyde & Mott Funeral Chapel, 60 Main Street South, Hagersville on Thursday, February 11th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 6: 30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church on Friday, February 12th at 11: 00 a.m. with interment at St. Anne's Cemetery. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the West Haldimand General Hospital.     He was born in Baden 80 years ago 10 August 1924, a son of the late Edgar and Matilda (Miller) Snyder.

    Robert was a dedicated supporter and fan of Baden and New Hamburg Minor Hockey and Baseball.

    Beloved husband of the late Jean Alice Brennan who predeceased him October 27, 1970. Loving father of Robert of Bade, William (deceased 1997) and his wife Joanne Snyder of New Hamburg and Shannon and her husband Alex Livingston of Baden. Sadly missed by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Shane and Mel (Chazen and Tanner), Jared and Shannon, Billie-Jo and friend Tyler, Kristin and friend Dave, Derek and Lesley (Zoe and Lily). Darryl and Sheila (Isabel) and Sonya and Chris (C. J. and Sierra). Dear brother of Gerald and Marg Snyder of Hagersville Joyce Gregory of Baltimore. Maryland. Also remembered by sister-in-law. Joyce was the daughter of the late Edgar and Matilda (Miller) Snyder. Joyce was formerly of Baden. Beloved wife of the late Wesley Gregory (1990). Dear mother of Dawn and her husband Robert Stevens and Lynn and her husband Dave Longley, all of Baltimore. Remembered by grandson, Matthew Longley. Also survived by her brother, Gerald Snyder and his wife Marg of Hagersville and by sister-in-law, Joyce Snyder of New Hamburg. She was predeceased by sister, Selda Shantz and her husband Wilfred and by brothers, Robert and his wife Jean, Claude, and Ray in Infancy. Joyce was an Employee of Maryland China for 34 years. Visitation at Ambrose Funeral Home (Arbutus, MD) will take place on Thursday, March 23, 2006.

    SHANTZ, Joyce Diane Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener surrounded by her loving family on Monday, December 11, 2017. Joyce was born 68 years ago, a daughter of the late Wilfred Shantz and former Selda Snyder. Joyce had lived at Doon Valley Manor, Kitchener for the past 27 years. She is the loving sister and sister-in-law of Tim and Betty Shantz of St. Agatha and Dwight and Sherry Shantz of Waterloo. She was a loving aunt to Trevor and Stephanie and their children Jared and Avery; Kelly and Shawn and their children Nathan and Hailey; Brittany and Jason and their children Claire and Jake; Chase; and Jaide. Joyce enjoyed music, especially the piano and accordion as well as a good game of cards (Solo). She also enjoyed watching old movies. She attended Achievement in Motion and was a member of the Waterloo Region Self Help. Visitation at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Wednesday (today) from 6-9 p.m. A private family interment will be held at Shantz Mennonite Cemetery, prior to the funeral service at the Funeral Home on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 1 p.m.
