EDWARD H. BOLENDER

A lifelong resident of this county and well-known and respected in the community, Edward H. Bolender died at the Elmira Private Hospital on Wednesday, December 28 in his 76th year, after a short illness.

Born in Peel Township in 1897 [sic], a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bolender, he was a farmer and drover in Peel Township for 40 years. He retired eleven years ago and came to live in Elmira.

A member of the North Woolwich Evangelical United Brethren Church, Mr. Bolender married the former Adeline Wagner in 1900 who predeceased him in 1908. In 1910, he married Angeline Snider who survives.

Also surviving are seven sons, Cecil and George of Elmira; Morley and Ray of Kitchener; Lorne and Russell of Floradale and Gordon of Preston; two daughters, Mrs. Peter Spurgeon (Gladys) of Galt and Mrs. Earl Skidmore (Fern) of Toronto; 24 grand-children and 3 great-grand-children.

One brother, George of Elmira and one sister, Mrs. Fred Mussellman, Kitchener, also survive. The remains are resting at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlour for service in the chapel on Saturday at 3 p.m. Burial will be in the Elmira Cemetery and Rev. J. Wesley Siebert will officiate.

BOLENDER, Morley - On Sunday, December 7, 1997, at his home, in Kitchener, Morley Bolender, in his 93rd year.

Son of the late Edward and Angeline (Wagner) Bolender. Brother of Gladys (Mrs. Peter Spurgeon) of Cambridge and Fern Skidmore of Alberta and brother-in-law of Blanche Bolender of Cambridge, Margaret Bolender and Gladys Bolender, both of RR 1, Elmira. Also fondly remembered by a number of nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by six brothers, George, Roy, Gordon, Lorne, Russell and Cecil.

Friends may call at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm where funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 11 am, with the Rev. J.D. Kellough officiating. Interment Elmira Union Cemetery.

Of 105 Oriole Ave Cambridge, on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 1988, suddenly, at home. Lovingly remembered by his wife, Blanche King and daughters, Shirley and her husband Geoff Vero, Judith Hanlan and Lynn and her husband Harold Markle. Dearly missed by six grandchildren, one great-grandchild; three brothers, Cecil of Hanover, George of Elmira and Morley of Kitchener; two sisters, Fern Skidmore of Toronto and Gladys Spurgeon of Cambridge and by sisters-in-law, Margaret and Gladys Bolender. Predeceased by three brothers, Roy, Lorne and Russel; two sisters, Marge and Florence and his parents, Angeline and Edward Bolender. Mr. Bolender was born in Drayton, May 13, 1911 and came to Cambridge, 55 years ago. He was a member of Preston Masonic Lodge, No. 297, the Otto Klotz Lodge, the Cambridge Shrine Club and was a former member of the Preston Town Council, The family will receive friends at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, Thursday (today) and Friday, 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, Aug. 13, 1988, at St. Paul's United Church, King Street, Cambridge, at 2 p.m. Interment Parklawn cemetery, Cambridge.

They were my grandparents! They were both wonderful people! My grandfather was a man that lived life with high standards and morals. He was a very wise man who loved his family very much and believed in helping people when he could. My grandmother was the most maternal person and was the perfect model of a grandmother. She showed her love through her home cooked meals. I remember her showing up at my door on several occasions with chicken soup when I was sick. She had "cookie parties" with her granddaughter's and made fun "granny boxes" at Christmas. They were two of the finest people you would ever meet and have left us with fond memories and a standard of morals to withhold. They have been missed since their passing

Lorne E. Bolender, of RR 1 Elmira, died suddenly Monday in K-W Hospital.

A son of Mrs. Angeline Bolender of Elmira and her late Edward Bolender, he was born in Peel Township. He farmed near Floradale for several years and attended Floradale Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Cumming, whom he married at Alma in 1944; his mother; one son, Grant 9, and two daughters, Nadine 12, and Christine 5, all at home; six brothers, George and Cecil, both of Elmira, Morley and Roy, both of Kitchener, Gordon of Preston, Russel of Floradale; four sisters, Mrs. Elias Snyder of Kitchener, Mrs. Allan Martin of Elmira, Mrs. Peter Spurgeon of Galt and Fern of Toronto.

The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, where service was conducted at 2:30 pm, Wednesday by Rev. C. B. Carr. Burial was in Elmira Cemetery.

Robert Grant Bolender, 10, of RR 1, Elmira. died at K-W Hospital, Tuesday. March 5 after a lengthy Illness.

He was a son of Mrs. Margaret Bolender of RR 1, Elmira, and the late Lorne Bolender. He was born in Kitchener March 23. 1952, and attended Woolwich Township Public School.

Surviving are his mother and two sisters. Nadine and Christine, both at home; his maternal grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cumming of Alma; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Angeline Bolender of Elmira.
