UBERIG, June (nee Melitzer) Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the age of 84. Loving mother of Wendy Weiss of Waterloo, Cathy Uberig of Toronto, and Steve Uberig (Dale) of St. Clements.

Cherished grandmother of Amanda Muzak (Warren), David Weiss (Nicole), Jenn Weiss, Meghan Uberig (Luke Beggs), Katie Uberig and David Uberig (Megan Kroetsch) and great-grandma of Olivia Weiss. Dear sister of Mildred Simpson of Waterloo, Ronald Melitzer (Veronica) of West Montrose, Vida Geddes of Kitchener and Sheldon Melitzer (Lorna) of Elmira.

She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.

Predeceased by her parents Sheldon and Imo Lydia Melitzer, her son David, her sister Bernice Johnston and brother Roy Melitzer and son-in-law Corry Weiss.

At June's request cremation has taken place. June's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10-10: 45 a.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467.

A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception. Rev. Austin Snyder officiating.

A private family interment will take place at Bloomingdale Mennonite Cemetery.

On Sunday, Sept. 14, 1980, at K-W Hospital, aged 17 years, of 19 Cardinal Cres., Elmira.

Dear son of June Uberig of Elmira and Fred Uberig of Waterloo; brother of Steve of Elmira, Mrs. Corry (Wendy) Weiss of Waterloo and Cathy of Toronto; uncle of Amanda and David: grandson of Mrs. Ada Uberig of West Montrose.

Dave attended Grade 12 at Elmira District secondary school, was a member of the Elmira Sugar King Junior B hockey club and active in Elmira minor softball.

Visitation was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, after 7 p.m. Tuesday. where a private family service will be held on Thursday. A public memorial service will be held at Trinity United Church. Elmira. on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 4 p.m. Interment Bloomingdale cemetery.
