    Fatally Injured by Auto

William Butters recently of Collingwood was struck down by an automobile at the corner of King and Agnes Streets in Kitchener on Monday evening and died in the hospital two hours later.

The car was driven by Miss Doretta Liphardt of Waterloo. Butters, accompanied by a fellow boarder, were crossing the street and did not see the car approaching until it was a few feet away from them. Butters' companion jumped backward, while Butters tried to cross and walked in front of the car which had swerved to one side to pass the two men. Butters suffered a fracture of the skull by striking the pavement. The coroner's jury viewed the scene of the accident and the remains and adjourned until Thursday morning for hearing the evidence. The remains were taken to Collingwood for burial. The deceased had been in Kitchener only a few weeks and was employed at the Dominion Tire factory.
