    Notes:

    Lovell, Ernest William

A lifelong resident of Galt, Ernest William Lovell, died suddenly, at his residence, 74 Aberdeen Road south, early this morning, in his 60th year. The late "Ernie" Lovell has led an active life in the community in which he was born. He was financial secretary of Court Manchester, Canadian Order of Foresters and was a devout member of Trinity church, attending the morning service yesterday. He was greatly interested in the work of the Men's Brotherhood of which he was a past president. He was a veteran of World War One, having enlisted at London and served overseas, with the 47th Battalion. He had been a member of the Galt branch of the Canadian Legion and for the past 16 years had filled the responsible post of pensions, advocate for the branch, a job to which he had devoted many hours of his leisure time and carried out faithfully. He will be hard to replace. He did much quiet work in behalf of others. For many years Mr. Lovell had been in the bicycle repair business. For the past nine years, he had been associated with Robert Franks, in the operation of the Uptown Service Station, at Main and Harris streets. Surviving are his wife, the former Flossie Johnson; his mother, Mrs. William Lovell; one daughter, Shirley, at home and one brother, Lawrence (Laurie) Lovell of Galt. The late Mr. Lovell is resting at the W. R. Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrew's street, where funeral service will be held, on Wednesday, at 2 pm, with interment in Trinity cemetery.
