    Notes:

    Snyder, Mariah, daughter of Aaron and Barbara (Nahrgang) Shantz, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont., Nov 15, 1872; diedat the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Nov. 12, 1964; aged 91y. 11 m. 28 d. In Dec. 1894, she was married to Cleason Shantz, who died in Dec. 1920. In Sept. 1937, she was married to Abram Snyder, who died in July, 1938. Surviving are 4 children (Bernice-Mrs. Stanley Brubacher, Elroy Shantz, Florence Shantz, and Earl Shantz), 3 sisters (Mrs. Judith Cressman, Mrs. Barbara Good, and Mrs. Rebecca Roth), 7 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Two sons and 3 sisters preceded her in death. She was a charter member of the first sewing circle in Ontario at the Erb Street Church, Waterloo, where she was a member and where funeral services were held Nov. 14, in charge of J. B. Martin and Milton Schwartzentruber.

    BRUBACHER, Bernice, daughter of Cleason and Mariah (Shantz) SHANTZ, was born in Waterloo, Ont., Jan. 21, 1896; died at London, Ont., May 14, 1986; aged 90 y. On Sept. 4, 1926, she was married to Stanley Brubacher, who died on Jan 11, 1986. Surviving are two sons (John and Glen), 2 daughters (Margaret Ashley and Elaine), 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, one sister (Florence Shantz) and one brother (Earl). She was a member of the Erb Street Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on May 16,in charge of Doug Snyder; interment in Roseville Cemetery.

    Shantz.-Clinton, son of Cleason and Maria Shantz, was born Sept. 18, 1897 at Waterloo, Ont. At the age of 15 years he confessed Christ and was received into the church, and has been a member since. He died Oct. 14, 1918; aged 21 y. 26 d. His death was due to influenza, and after a relapse, developed into pneumonia. May the Lord console the family in their bereavement. Due to influenza, brief services were conducted at the home by Bro. Noah Stauffer. Buried at the Waterloo Mennonite Cemetery.

    FLORENCE SHANTZ 1912 - 2007 Went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 7, 2007, in her 95th year. Dear aunt of Margaret (Cecil) Ashley, Elaine Brubacher, Janet (Bud) Hebel, Sharon Hicknel, Randy (Reta) Shantz, Glen (Elizabeth) Brubacher, and the late John (Lorraine) Brubacher. Also will be missed by 15 great-nieces and nephews and 24 great-great nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by her brothers, Clinton, Elroy, and Earl and her sister, Bernice Brubacher. Florence was a dedicated lifelong member of the Erb Street Mennonite Church and gave much of her time and energy to the service of her Lord in the Church that she loved. Friends are invited to share their memories of Florence with her family during a memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Florence's life and faith will be held at Erb Street Mennonite Church, 131 Erb St. W., Waterloo, on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Eleanor Epp-Stobbe officiating. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. Condolences for the family and donations to the Mennonite Central Committee or Erb Street Mennonite Church may be arranged through the funeral home, 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com In living memory of Florence, a tree will be planted through the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
