    BECHTEL, Wilbert "Butch" - Died, peacefully, at Lanark Heights in Kitchener, on March 20, 2006, in his 96th year. Butch was born in New Dundee, December 30, 1910 to Mervin and Adelia (Brighton) Bechtel. Beloved husband of 53 years to Velma (Cairns) who predeceased him in 1988. He was predeceased by his son, Bruce; sisters, Doris Rosenburger, Ruby Poth and brothers, Percy and George. He will be deeply missed by his son, Bob and his wife Dorothy of New Dundee; daughter, Faye and her husband Jeff Stewart of Waterloo and daughter-in-law, Virginia and her husband, Rudi Gruen of Burlington. Cherished grandfather to Jeff Bechtel and his friend, Michelle, Tanya and Rob Schroeder, Kim and Wayne Saunders, Jody Keffer, Bradley and Joanne Bechtel, Jane and Scott Robb, David and Wendy Bechtel, Ben and Tara Stewart, Sherrie and Nick Ashford; and 11 great-grandchildren.Cremation has taken place.     POTH, (Bechtel), Ruby Catherine - Passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2003. Ruby was a lifelong resident of New Dundee, where she was born August 7, 1914. She was the daughter of the late Mervin and Adeila (Brighton) Bechtel. Beloved wife of the late Harold Poth, who predeceased her in 1985. Loving mother of Richard and Joyce Poth of Milton Don and Beth Poth of New Dundee. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Brian of Toronto, Cheryl of Kingston, Andrea of Milton, Julie and husband Kevin Dopko and their son Nathan of Kitchener and Amy and husband Elliot Fung of New Dundee. Also missed by her brother Wilbert (Butch) Bechtel of New Dundee, sisters-in-law Ruth Bechtel, Gertrude Bechtel, both of Cambridge and bother-in-law Glen and Elaine Poth of Waterloo and a number of nieces and nephews. Ruby was predeceased by brothers Percy, George (Joe), and sister Doris and Stuart Rosenberger. Ruby was a lifelong faithful member of New Dundee Baptist Church where she served as Clerk for 40 years and was also a Dominion Life Member of the Baptist Women's Missionary Society. She has had a keen interest in the children of the church and community. The joy of her life was serving her Lord in her church and her family. She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, her church and her neighbours. Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron New Hamburg, tonight (Saturday) from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Monday, October 27, 2003 at 1: 30 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Kowtecky to officiate. Interment to follow in Union Cemetery, New Dundee.

    Obituary for Richard Poth

    With great sadness but wonderful memories, his family announces that Richard Poth passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Mathews House Hospice in Alliston, Ontario, at the age of 71. Richard will be missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Joyce, three children, Brian (Lisa), Cheryl (Damian) and Andrea (Dennis) and grandchildren Anna, Thomas, Madison, Jacob and Avery.
    Son of Harold and Ruby Poth, Brother of Don (Beth), Richard was born on March 26, 1944 and grew up on a dairy farm in New Dundee, just west of Kitchener. Richard met the love of his life, Barbara Joyce Becker at Baden High School and married her on August 5, 1967. They had 3 children, Brian, Cheryl and Andrea \endash and together successfully balanced parenthood with marriage, work and many, many community activities.

    Richard joined Ralston Purina after graduating from the University of Guelph and becoming a proud "Aggie". He worked for Purina in progressive roles over 38 years, retiring as Executive VP of Finance and Administration in 2003.

    Richard lived a busy life, full of curiosity, generosity and kindness, actively participating in local community groups, churches and charities. Beyond work and helping others, his other enduring passion has been travel, visiting every Province and State and over 50 countries. Richard's curiosity and interest in sharing new experiences, meeting new people, and seeing new things was never satisfied.
    Thanks to Princess Margaret Hospital, local Alliston-based community health care workers and Mathews House Hospice who helped Richard through his brief and courageous battle with esophageal cancer.

    Richard will be missed dearly by the many family and friends he has positively impacted and will always be in our hearts and memories.
    In lieu of flowers, the family encourages/directs donations to any of the following: Mathews House Hospice, JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) or St. John's UC Foundation.

    A celebration of Richard's life will take place at Drury Funeral Centre, 519 Victoria Street E., Alliston on Sunday January 10, 2016 from 1 to 4 p.m. with a time of reflections shared at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception. www.druryfuneralcentre.com
