    Of 1207 Duke St., Preston Cambridge, Sunday, June 3, at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Susanna Goetz, beloved wife of Joseph Balnig; dear mother of Marie (Mrs. George Ruck) and Barbara (Mrs. Tony Cambranes) of Preston Cambridge; Mrs. Balnig was born in Romania, came to Preston in 1927. She was a member of St. Clement's Church and the Catholic Women's League; survived by one brother Peter Goetz of Romania, one sister Mrs. Dominic Altmayer (Anna) of Preston; also survived by seven grandchildren. Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, corner Queen and Argyle Streets, Preston Cambridge, until Wednesday morning, then to St. Clement's Church for funeral mass, at 10 a.m. Interment in Parklawn cemetery.

    Matthew Goetz

    PRESTON, Matthew Goetz of 952 Concession Road, died Wednesday, in Hamilton General Hospital. He was 68. A native of Romania, Mr. Goetz worked as a farmer in this area for several years. He lived in Preston from 1949 to 1953, when he moved to RR 1, Hespeler. He returned to Preston in 1970. He was a member of St. Clements RC Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Katherine Grossmayer and three sons, Matthew of RR 4, Listowel, Nicholas of Preston and Joseph of RR 1, Hespeler. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Susan) Bolnig and Mrs. Anthony (Ann) Almayer, both of Preston, one brother in Romania and four grandchildren.

    Of Parkway Drive, Cambridge, on Thursday, Oct. 21, 1993, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in her 80th year. Beloved wife of Dominik and dear mother of Joseph and his wife Norma Weier, John Altmayer, Katherine (Mrs. John Bauer) and Susan (Mrs. Ernst Patzak), all of Cambridge. Also survived by one brother in Germany. Fondly remembered by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Anna Goetz was born in Romania and was a member of St. Clement's RC Church. Friends will be received at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, on Friday. Oct. 22, 1993, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will he held at St. Clement's Church, 745 Duke St., Cambridge, on Saturday, Oct. 23, 1993, at 10 a m., with Father Cullaton officiating. Interment in Parklawn Cemetery.

Mr. Goetz was born in Romania and was a resident of Cambridge, since I949, Co-owner of J. and N. Meat Packers Ltd., of Cambridge and a member of St. Clement's Church. Friends will be received by the family at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge (P), Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon and evening.     Passed away, on Friday, August 29, 1997, at the Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, in his 63rd year, Joe Goetz of Preston. Joe was a butcher in Cambridge, for many years. Sadly missed by his wife, Shirley (nee Bateman); his sons, Terry Main and his wife Maureen of Whitby and: Randy Main and his wife Josie of Cambridge. Lovingly remembered by his brother, Matt Goetz and his wife Dorothy of Cambridge and his sister-in-law, Helen Goetz of Cambridge. Also missed by his niece, Cathy and his nephews. Nick, Mike and Matthew. Remembered by his parents-in-law, Calvin and Ada Barrett. Predeceased by his parents, Matthew and Catherine Goetz and his brother, Nick. Friends and relatives may call at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, on Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in Parklawn Cemetery.

    ALTMAYER, John

    Was born on February 5, 1944 in Romania. He immigrated to Canada with his parents, brother and sisters in 1952, settling in Preston, Ontario. On July 27, 2018 he passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side. He was an avid outdoorsman, spending many hours by the lake, camping and fishing. A great debater of history and politics, he enjoyed family gatherings, playing cards and watching old movies. A longtime employee of WCI in Cambridge, he enjoyed an early retirement, allowing him to spend more time with his mom and dad. Predeceased by his parents Dominik and Anna Altmayer. Survived by his sister Susie Patzak (Ernie, d.2004), brother Joe (Norma) Weier and sister Katherine (John) Bauer. Loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. He will be sorely missed. The family wishes to thank the Grand River Hospital Dialysis Unit and the Hospital staff for their compassionate care. Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 6 - 9 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Clement's Catholic Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge on Wednesday, August 1, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Parklawn Cemetery.
