She resided on the farm where she raised a family of ten children, until her death which took place in January 1895."

BRUBACHER. - On the 1st of Feb., 1895, near St. Jacobs, Waterloo Co., Ont., of old age, sister Catherine Martin, widow of the late Pre. John W. Brubacher, aged 86 years. Buried in the Conestoga Mennonite graveyard. Funeral services by Abraham and Paul Martin. Deceased was born in Lancaster Co., Pa. In 1820 she came to Canada, was united in matrimony with Bro. Brubacher in 1827. To this union were born nine sons and four daughters, of whom four sons and four daughters survive. Her funeral was largely attended.

With the first wife there were seven children, namely: Elizabeth, Jacob, Catharine (dead) Abraham (dead), Levi, Magdalena, and Veronica; and with second wife there are eight children, namely: Nancy, Mary, David, Barbara, Amos (dead), Henry, Benjamin, and Lydia."

HAD MANY DESCENDANTS PIONEER LAID TO REST.

The funeral of the late John M. Brubacher of near St. Jacob, was beld on Monday and was very largely attended. It was held from the residence of the deceased's son-in-law, David Sauder, near Elmira.

The late Mr. Brubacher was 81 years old and is survived by 69 grand children and seven great grand children.

This week it becomes my duty to chronicle the death of one of our old settlers in the person of David Brubacher, who was born in the Township of Woolwich on November 6^th, 1836. When about 18 years old he learned the trade of carriage maker, and about 48 years ago he started business on his own account in St. Jacobs, where he continued a very successful business for 7 or 8 years. He then sold out and removed to the place on the Heidelberg road known at that time as "Hollinger's Hotel." The little place contained three residences and a hotel. Here he successfully carried on carriage-making and blacksmithing business for about 23 years, when he sold out to two of his sons, Messrs. Aaron B. and Isaiah Brubacher, who formed a partnership under the name of Brubacher Bros, and removed the business back to St. Jacobs where their father, had first founded it. After that Mr. Brubacher devoted all his time to his two farms on lot 9, Woolwich township until a few years ago he sold one farm to his son, Auson and rented the homestead farm to his son Noah and retired from active work. For the past three years he has been feeling the effects of declining years. Diabetes started its deadly work and becoming acute caused his death in the early morning of July 14^th. He leaves a sorrowing widow and 8 children, all of whom are married but David, the youngest son, telegraph operator at St. Catharines. The others not named above are: Annie (Mrs. David L. Martin), near the old homestead; Barbara, (Mrs. Israel Brubacher,) Elmira; and Catharine, (Mrs. Noah Cressman), head cook at the Berlin-Waterloo hospital. The funeral took place on Sunday and was one of the largest held in this neighborhood for a long time; there were over 100 teams in the funeral procession and probably 100 more at the church. Funeral services were held at the Mennonite church 2 miles northwest of St. Jacobs, Rev'ds Tobias Martin, Joseph Gingrich ad Abr. Brubacher officiating^.

Henry M. Brubacher, "the fourth son of John W. Brubacher, was born in Woolwich Township, July 8th, 1838. He is engaged in manufacturing woollen goods. He entered the woollen mills when quite a young man. His apprenticeship was served in the Hawksville Mills; from here he went to St. Jacobs, thence to Chicopee where he remained about eight years. Some sixteen years ago he sold the Chicopee Mills to Mr. Weber and purchased the Baden Mills where he has since carried on the manufacturing of woollen goods. On July 23rd, 1865, he was married to Margaretta, daughter of George and Magdalena (Wagner) Algeiger. She was born July 28th, 1840, and died April 15th, 1868. On September 7th, 1869, he was married to Magdalena Algeiger, sister to his deceased wife. She was born August 28th, 1849. He has a family of fourteen children, two with the first wife"

THE LATE H. M. BRUBACHER.

Elmira Signet: The death of Mr. H. M. Brubacher took place at his home in St. Jacobs last Friday. He had been in failing health for several years and for the past few weeks his condition has been serious. He was one of the best known and highly respected citizens of the district and his death will be generally mourned.

The deceased was engaged in woollen manufacturing business from the time he was a boy when he was employed in his father's mill at Hawkesville. Later he entered into partnership with his brother Jacob carrying on the St. Jacobs woollen mills business for a number of vears after which he purchased the Chicopee mills, where he was engaged in business for about eight years. He again took possession of the Hawkesville mills and after a short period purchased the Baden mills where he resided and carried on a successful business for about 25 years.

About five years ago he removed to St. Jacobs where he lived retired. Three years ago he suffered an attack of paralysis from which he rever fully recovered.

He is survived by a widow and 12 children Israel of Elmira, Solomon of Berlin, Elias of Baden, Henry near Elmira, Wes. Ab. Bauman Waterloo, Mrs. Martin Bauman, Floradale, Mrs. Levy Frey near Hawkesville, Mrs. Josiah Brubacher near Comestogo, Lydian, Mary Ann, Amanda and Rebecca at home. Two children predeceased him.

On August 12th, 1876, he was ordained to the ministry of the Mennonite body at the Conestogo Meeting House by Bishop Abraham Martin. He is a good man and a sincere worker for the Lord's cause and is highly esteemed by his congregation. He is married to Elizabeth, daughter of Louis and Barbara (Wanner) Beeshy. She was born December 24th, 1842. Their family consists of nine children".

On the 18th of June, in Woolwich township, Waterloo Co., Ont., MICHAEL BRUBACHER, aged 27 years, 9 months and 18 days. He struck his foot against a splinter, which penetrated the flesh between the large and second toes. He drew out the splinter and the wound healed. In ten days however he felt pains in his back and other parts of the body. He went to see a physician to whom the case seemed singular and he called other physicians, and the foot was opened and another piece of splinter was found and taken out. But the pains continued to increase, his mouth and all the limbs of the body became stiff and death put an end to his suffering. He leaves his mourning friends the comfort that their loss is his eternal gain. He leaves a widow and one child. He was a member of the Mennonite church. He was buried on the 20th at Conestoga where Lewis Koch and A. B. Martin preached funeral discourses, to a large concourse of people.

ST. JACOBS, Jan. 15. Mrs. Elizabeth Sauder, widow of the late August Sauder, formerly of St. Jacobs, died late last night at the home of her son Jacob, 1½ miles west of Hawkesville. She was 93 years of age on Jan. 4.

Surviving are two sons, Jacob and Benjamin of St. Jacobs; three daughters, Mrs. Ezra A. (Judith) Martin, Mrs. Emerson (Barbara) Martin and Elizabeth at home. Also surviving are five sisters and two brothers.

Funeral service will be held on Friday morning at nine o'clock from the residence to Conestogo Mennonite Church, near Three Bridges for service and interment.

Mrs. Nancy Martin, 85, died Wednesday, May 20, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Amos C. Martin, R.R. 3, Wallenstein.

Mrs. Martin was born October 25, 1867. near New Hamburg, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Brubacher. She was a member of Hawkesville Mennonite Church. Her husband, Menno. predeceased her 25 years ago.

Surviving are two sons, Enos and Menno, of near Elmira; four daughters, Mrs. Jessie (Rebecca) Bauman, Mrs. Amos (Lovina) Martin, Mrs. Norman (Lydia) Martin, all of near Elmira, and Mrs. Amos (Hannah) Martin of near Waterloo: two brothers, Ben and Henry. of near Elmira; three sisters, Mrs. Christian Frey, Wallenstein; Mrs. David Sauder, of near St. Jacobs and Mrs. Magdelina Snyder. Preston; 25 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. One son and three daughters predeceased her.

The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor until Friday at 9 a.m. when removal was made to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Amos C. Martin. The funeral was held there Saturday at 1:30 pm., thence to Hawkesville Mennonite Church for further service. Burial was in South Peel Mennonite Cemetery. Rev. Paul Martin officiated.

Henry S. Brubacher, 86 of Floradale, formerly of Elmira, died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry W. Bauman, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Wellesley Township, Nov. 30, 1876, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Brubacher. His wife, the former Hannah Shantz, to whom he was married Nov. 2, 1902, survives.

Also surviving are six sons, Amos of Minden, Tobias, Ira and Irvine, all of RR 2, Wallenstein and Elmer and Emerson, both of Elmira; three daughters Mrs. Henry W. (Rebecca) Bauman of Floradale, Mrs. Edwin (Sarah) Buehler of RR 1, Elmira, and Mrs. Thomas (Elvina) Martin of Copper Cliff; one sister, Mrs. Christian (Lydia) Frey of RR 1, Wallenstein; 34 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. One daughter, Lydian, predeceased him in 1916.

The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, until Tuesday at 9 a.m. when removal was made to the home of his son, Emerson, for a service at 2 p.m. daylight saving time, then to Elmira Mennonite Meeting House for a funeral service. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Benjamin B. (Ben) Brubacher age 82 died on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at the home of his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra H. Frey, Hawkesville after a short illness. The death of Mrs. Valentine Schmidt occurred at her home near Erbsville last night in her 72nd year after an illness of seven weeks. DEATH OF MICHAEL ALLGEIER

The death took place at the Hamilton hospital yesterday afternoon of Michael Allgeier, a former well-known and highly respected resident of Elmira. Mr. Allgeier had been ailing for the past three years, but during the past year his decline was most noticeable.

Mr. Allgeier was born in Woolwich township, a son of the late Philip Allgeier, and until 27 years ago he was a farmer. During this time he was married to Catherine Axt, who passed away only six months ago. After coming to Elmira he went into the woodworking trade being engaged in the Interior. woodworking plant for some years and later following the occupation of capenter-contractor. He took a prominent part in municipal affairs, being a Councillor. Reeve and Mayor in due course. His health compelled him to discontinue his active life and he has lived in retirement for some years.

A family of two daughters and two sons survive, namely, Fred. Zeigler of Peterson Sask. Mrs. Ernie Wales of Brampton and Messrs. Alvin and Clayton Allgeier of Elmira. One sister also survives, Mrs. Amos Mus-selman of Elmira. The funeral takes place tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 2.30 o'clock to the Elmira Cemetery.

It is our sad duty to report the death of Mr. Peter Algeier whose serious illness was mentioned last week. Death is supposed to be due to the bursting of a blood vessel in his head, caused by a fall. Alarming symptoms developed only after a day or two had passed, when the patient became drowsy and eventually unconscious, in which stupor he lay for several days until his death. Deceased was a quiet, industrious man and much respected by all who know him. He leaves a wife and four children who have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement. Mr. Mich. Algeier of Elmira is a brother of the deceased.

Sister Allgeir belonged to the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip Allgeir of Woolwich Twp. of which one survives - Mrs. Amos Musselman of Elmira. Sister Allgeir was a member of the Mennonite Church and remained faithful to the faith she had accepted. She had her home with Bro. and Sister Levi Bawman of Elmira for the last few years where she greatly appreciated the care and kindness shown her until the Lord called her home.

Respected Farmer Dead

The sad death took place Thursday last of Martin E. Brubacher, a well known and highly esteemed farmer of Woolwich Township, following a short illness. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon to the St. James Lutheran church for service thence to St. James' cemetery for interment. The late Mr. Brubacher was born in Woolwich township, May 26, 1857. A sorrowing wife and six children survive, namely Mrs. Henry Ziegler, of Floradale, Claire of Elmira, Mabel, Cranson, William and Florence at home; also his aged mother, Mrs. Magdalena Brubacher, of St. Jacobs, two sisters Mrs. Reuben Eby and Mrs. Christ. Scheifele of St. Jacobs, and one brother, W. H. Brubacher of Rodney.

Former Dresden Man Dies at Rodney Home

DRESDEN, March 15. The news of the death of W. H. Brubacker of Rodney was received by friends here.

Mr. Brubacker was very well known to people of Dresden and surrounding district, as he conducted the creamery just north of the town for several seasons.

Mr. Brubacker has been ill for some time and passed away on Tuesday morning at his home in Rodney. He is survived by his widow and two grown- up children at home.

BRUBACHER BROS.

In the general carriage and wagon industry and blacksmithing business the inhabitants of St Jacobs and vicinity are certainly to be congratulated in being in advance of the large majority of villages. In Brubacher Bros, they have a firm who carry on the business in its entirety under one roof and management, which must have many advantages for building road vehicles properly or repairing the same hurriedly, over the old custom where the wagon maker exchanges his woodwork for iron work with some blacksmith or the blacksmith his iron work with some wagon maker for his wood work, often at a distance from their respective places of business and not unfrequently in another village, which I find in my travels over the country a practice even in much larger places than St. Jacobs. On Feb. 27th, 1889, Mr. Daniel Brubacher, father of the above gentlemen, who had for over 20 years carried on very successful carriage and blacksmithing business on the Heidelberg road about two miles south-west of St. Jacobs, retired favor of his sons A. B. Brubacher woodworker and I. B. Brubacher blacksmith. The father now lives comfortably on his farm near here. The sons immediately formed themselves general partnership and removed to St. Jacobs where they built and equipped their present large brick shop, as well as two comfortable brick residences for themselves. By putting in work of first-class quality only they have maintained the good reputation enjoyed by the father predecessor, for building durable, well finished and easy running vehicles, and have built up a good trade not only in new work but in general jobbing and horse shoeing, having customery from a considerable distance. These gentlemen carry instantly from 10,000 to 13,000 feet of lumber the rough state and have at present 1,000 feet of oak wagon tongues alone. So it will be seen that they are in position use only thoroughly seasoned timber. They also carry a good stock of the rims, etc., as well full stock of oak material for wagon wheels and a fall line of blacksmith shop supplies, brimming goods, paints, varnishes, etc., which is absolutely insure first-class work. In the manufacturing of cutters they do some fine work to durability and finish, and have a of beauties on hand. I would advise those contemplating buying anything in their line of business to give them a call. They report business very brisk, having number of cutters and sleighs, and have also orders on hand for several buggies etc. to out next spring.

Mr. I Brubacher plays a cornet in the St. Jacobs Band and is a great poultry fancier, having a lot of fine thoroughbred bird's of the barred Plymouth Rock and white Leghorn breeds. Last summer he sold most of his egg production for hatching purposes.

Mr. A. B Brubacher is a J. P, and has the peace of the village to look after and is a general conveyancer. ln this respect he is decidedly the right man in the right place.

Brubacher.-Noah B., son of the late David and Catherine Brubacher, was born near St. Jacobs, Ont., Jan. 17, 1877; died at his home (where he has been staying the last 50 years) Feb. 17, 1934, after only a few days of sickness; aged 57 y. 1 m. He was married to Susanna Brubacher Jan. 15, 1901. She preceded him in death in 1903. On Dec. 24, 1905, he was married to Leah Martin who died June 23, 1932. This union was blessed with 2 sons and 3 daughters. He leaves his 5 children (Mrs. R. Jantzie, Jordan Station, Ont.; Abram, Nora, Elma, and Roy at home), 1 grandchild, and 3 brothers (Aaron, Isaiah, and David), 2 sisters (Mrs. N. H. Cressman and Mrs. Israel Brubacher), and a large circle of other relatives and friends. One sister and two brothers preceded him. He accepted Christ as his Savior early in life and joined the Mennonite Church of which he was a devoted member and earnest worker. He enjoyed his Christian experience and his work for the Master. He will be greatly missed in the home, where he was a loving father; in the neighborhood, always ready to lend a helping hand; and in the Church his place was seldom vacant and was a faithful S. S. teacher for many years. Funeral services were held Feb. 20 at the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, conducted by Brethren S. F. Coffman

Mr. Brubacher first saw the light of day at Hawksville in 1866. His first experience in learning how to provide for himself at the close of his school days was in working for his father in the woollen mill at Baden. The grocery was established here about six years ago, but it was in charge of his brother, Solomon Brubacher, until about a year ago, when he came and took possession himself. He has everything that is to be found in a first-class modern grocery store, fancy groceries, confectionery, etc. In the latter he has an exceptionally fine display. Mrs. Susannah Frey, 83, of RR 3, Wallenstein, died Saturday, June 16 at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was the former Susannah Brubacher, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brubacher of Baden.
She married Levi Frey in 1904 at St. Jacobs and he predeceased her. They farmed at Hawkesville until his death.
Mrs. Frey was a member of the Old Order Mennonites.
Surviving are two sons, Abraham and Levi of RR 3, Wallenstein; five daughters, Mrs. Matthias (Lydia) Martin of Hawkesville, Mrs. Jesse (Annie) Weber of RR 2, Wallenstein, Mrs. Onias (Susannah) Wideman of RR 1, Waterloo, Mrs. Orilas (Lena) Weber of RR 4, Elmira, and Mrs. Emerson (Elizabeth) Weber of RR 1, Atwood; four sisters, Mrs. Katherine Bowman and Rebecca of Preston; Mrs. Martin Bowman and Amanda of Elmira; 41 grand children and three great-grandchildren.
The body was at the Levi Frey residence, RR 3, Wallenstein, where the funeral was conducted at 9 a.m. (Standard Time) Tuesday, followed by service at South Peel Mennonite Church at 10 a.m. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Elias Brubacher - Elias A. Brubacher, a Wallenstein district farmer for 40 years died early Wednesdays February 26, at the K-W Hospital after a lingering illness. He was 85.

Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brubacher, Mr. Brubacher was born at Chicopee. He lived in the Baden district for 40 years before moving to the Wallenstein area.

His wife predeceased him in 1930 and he is survived by two sons, Henry W. and Amos W., both of Wallenstein and four daughters, Mrs. Elias (Maryann) Weber, RR 4, Elmira; Mrs. Mannasseh (Susannah) Weber, RR 3, Wallenstein; Mrs. Amos (Lucinda) Frey, RR 1, Wallenstein; and Mrs. Menno (Lavina) Martin, Clinton. Thirty-one grandchildren and five sisters also survive.

The funeral was conducted Friday at 9 o'clock at the residence, RR 3, Wallenstein. Service followed at the Peel Mennonite Meeting House. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. The body rested at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor until Thursday at 1 o'clock when removal was made to the residence.

Elias A. Brubacher

Elias A. Brubacher, a former resident of Baden died at the Kitchener- Waterloo Hospital on Wednesday at the age of 86 years following a lengthy illness. The late Mr. Brubacher, who was born near Preston, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brubacher, farmed in the Wallenstein district for the past 40 years, and previously resided in Baden, where he operated a woollen mill for a number of years. His wife predeceased him in 1930, and he is survived by two sons, Henry W. and Amos W. of Wallenstein; and four daughters, Mrs. Elias Weber, R. ELMIRA, Jan. 5.-After a lengthy illness at the Elmira Private Hospital the death occurred today of Miss Maryann Brubacher, 69. She was born in Waterloo Township, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brubacher, and had been a resident of Elmira for the past 40 years.

She is survived by two brothers Elias and Henry of Hawkesville, and six sisters, Mrs. Abraham (Catherine) Bowman, Preston; Mrs. Martin (Magdalena) Bowman, Floradale; Mrs. Levi (Sussanna) Frey, Hawkesville; and Miss Lydia and Miss Rebecca Brubacher and Mrs. Levi (Amanda) Brubacher, all of Elmira.

One sister, Mrs. Josiah (Annie) Brubacher, and two brothers, Israel and Solomon, predeceased her.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral-Chapel and public services at the Elmira Mennonite Church. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

The body now rests at the funeral home.

Peter B. Brubacher, 61, passed away at his home, Three Bridges, on Monday, March 1st. Born on the family homestead where his entire life-time was spent, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Brubacher.

Surviving are his wife and one brother, Menno, also of Three Bridges.

The funeral was held Thursday at 9 a. m. from his late residence, to Conestogo and Three Bridges Mennonite Church. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mrs. Elizabeth Martin, 76, died at the home of her daughter and son- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Wideman of R.R. 1, Waterloo, Monday. She was born April 12, 1877, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Brubacher.

Surviving are four sons, David and Daniel of R.R. 3, Waterloo, Amos and Ezra of R.R. 1, Waterloo; three daughters, Mrs. John (Lovina) Brubacher and Mrs. Josiah (Rebecca) Martin of R.R. 3, Wallenstein, and Mrs. Ezra (Betsy) Wideman; one sister, Mrs. Simon Martin of R.R. 4, Elmira. There are 32 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her husband, Amos A., predeceased her in 1918. A daughter also died before her.

The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, until Wed- nesday at 10:30 a.m. when removel was made to the Wideman home for service at 8:30 a.m. Friday, followed by a service at South Peel Mennon- ite Meeting House. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

ENOS B. BOWMAN

Enos B. Bowman, 68, of Kitchener, passed away at the K-W hospital on Monday, Oct. 21. Deceased was born Feb. 10, 1872, at Floradale, a son of the late Daniel Bowman and Mag- daline Brubaker.

Surviving are his wife, Cathrine Smith, one son, Norvy S., Toronto, one daughter, Mrs. C. O. Kruspe, New Hamburg, one brother, Levi, Floradale, and one sister, Mrs. Samuel Horst, West Montrose. Three grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon from the residence to St. Matthew's Lutheran church, Kitchener, for public service. Interment was made in Woodland cemetery, Kitchener.

Mrs. John S. Frey

ST. JACOBS.\emdash The funeral of the late Mrs. John S. Frey was held on Monday morning. After a short service at her late residence, the memorial service was held in the Conestogo meeting house near the Three Bridges, which was largely attended.

She is survived by her husband, five daughters and seven sons: Mrs. Henry Bowman, Lexington, Mrs. Onias Weber, Hawkesville. Mrs. Allen Diefenbecker, 8th of Peel, Mrs. Amos Bowman and Mrs. Jacob Bowman of St. Jacobs. The sons are: Israel of Conestogo, Aaron, Tilman, Emanuel and Allen of St. Jacobs, John and Ezra of Heidelberg. One sister, Mrs. John Metzger, and one brother, Mr. Aaron Hoffman of Heidelberg, also survive.

MRS.EMERSON MARTIN

St. Jacobs Mrs. Emerson Martin died today at her home near St. Jacobs after a brief illness. She was 82. The former Barbara Sauder, she was born Feb. 5, 1888 in Wellesley Township, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Sauder. She was married in 1911 to Emerson Martin who predeceased her in 1961. She and her husband had operated a greenhouse and market garden near St. Jacobs for many years. She was predeceased by an infant son, and another son Edwin in 1965, also by four brothers and a sister. Surviving are five sons, Ivan of RR 1, Whitby, Howard of RR 1, Preston, Sylvester of Linwood, Aden of St. Jacobs, Henry of RR1 1, Waterloo; three daughters, Mrs. Enos (Elizabeth) Gingrich of RR 4, Elmira, Mrs. Norman (Lovina) Brubacher of RR 1, West Montrose, Mrs. Stanley (Ada) Valenta of RR 1, Waterloo; one brother Benjamin and a sister, Elizabeth, both of Elmira; 37 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. The body will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Monday evening. A family service will be conducted Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the residence followed by a memorial service at Martin's Mennonite Meeting House, where she had been a member. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

She was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters.

Elmira - Mrs. Menno Reist, 41, died suddenly July 5 of pneumonia at the Ontario Hospital, Hamilton. She was born in Woolwich Township on Feb. 21, 1898, a daughter of Mrs. David Sauder and the late Mr. Sauder. She was married 14 years ago. Besides her husband there survive a daughter, Wilma, six brothers, Menno Sauder of R.R. 2, Elmira, Eli of St. Jacobs, David of Breslau, Henry of St. Jacobs, John of Hawkesville and Tilman Sauder, two sisters, Mrs. Enoch Martin of St. Jacobs and Mrs. Menno Bowman of Hawkesville. Veronica Sauder, near St. Jacobs, died early this morning in the Elmira Private Hospital, after an illness of two years.

She was 33 years old.

Surviving are her mother, Mrs. David Sauder, near St. Jacobs, six brothers, John and Menno of Elmira, David of Bloomingdale, Eli of Three Bridges, Henry and Tillman at home, and three sisters, Mrs. Menno Bauman, Hawkesville, Mrs. Enoch Martin, Heidelberg, and Mrs. Menno Reist of Hamilton.

The funeral will be held Friday morning at nine o'clock from the family residence north of St. Jacobs to the Conestogo Mennonite church.

Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Rev. Jesse Bowman will officiate.

Martin.-John, son of Menno and Nancy Martin, was born near Elmira, Ont., Jan. 6, 1896; died Sept. 18, 1926; aged 30 y. 8 m. 12 d. On Dec. 14, 1921, he was united in marriage to Ida Bauman who survives him. Thus he leaves a loving companion, 2 brothers, 5 sisters, and a wide circle of relatives and friends to mourn his early departure. He was an employee of the Elmira Public Utilities Commission since Oct. 1922, and it was while engaged at this work, that he accidently came in contact with a live wire, which caused his immediate death. Little did he think that perhaps when he climbed the pole to make a few adjustments that in a few moments he would be let down by a rope, as one who made the change in the twinkling of an eye. One hand was severely burned and also three fingers of the other hand. The sad news came as a heartfelt shock to those who knew him best. He was well known throughout the whole community, and was possessed with a cheery disposition, always ready with a kind word and a smile. He was a faithful member of the Mennonite Church and was very much interested in the work of the Lord. It was his earnest desire to be a bright and shining light in this world. Funeral services were held on Sept. 22 at the Elmira Mennonite Church, and at the Old Order Mennonite Church which was nearby. Both houses being filled to their capacity. Services were conducted by Bro. A. B. Gingerinch and Bro. O. D. Snider at the one church, while at the same time Bro. Moses Brubaker and Bro. Jess B. Mrs. Enoch Wideman, 86, died at her residence In Hawkesville last Wednesday following a lengthy illness.

Born in 1870, she was the former Hanna Brubacher, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elias Brubacher. She was a member of South Peel Mennonite Church. A B Brubacher, a long-time auctioneer. died early today at his home at 32 Peltz Ave., Kitchener He was 80.

Born on a farm two miles west of St Jacobs, Brubacher still handled some auctions at the A B Brubacher Furniture Auction Centre 327 Breithaupt St.. at age 75. He sold the centre in the late 1960s.

He farmed north of Elmira and at Bridgeport until he was 44.

Brubacher handled auctions from Petrolia to Peterborough and as far north as Wiarton. Occasionally he sold livestock in New York and Pennsylvania.

BRUBACHER, A. B. (Abraham) - At his home. 32 Peltz Ave.. Kitchener, on Wednesday. April 19, 1978. suddenly following a heart attack, Abraham B. Brubacher. age 80 years.

Mr. Brubacher was born near Wallenstein, a son of the late Elias Brubacher and the former Mary Brubacher. A member of the Breslau Mennonite Church.

Mr. Brubacher founded Brubacher Brothers Limited Livestock Sales now operated by his sons, Angus (Mike) and Raymond. He was a member of the Holstein Friesen Association of Canada. He began his career as a Holstein exporter in 1928. He founded the Brubacher Auction Centre which began in the old market building in 1942. He continued until his retirement in 1975. He specialized in livestock, farm and household sales. The auction centre, still in operation, is now located on Breithaupt Street.

He is survived by his wife, the former Lizzie Brox, by his two daughters, Edna (Mrs. Robert McKeon) of Kitchener and Gladys (Mrs. Mervin Roth) of Waterloo and by his three sons, Irvin B., of Route 21, Cambridge (H), Angus (Mike) of Kitchener and Raymond of Route 7, Guelph; by his brother, Dilman of St. Jacobs and his three sisters, Veronica (Mrs. Isaiah Eby) of Elmira, Lydia, Mrs. Henry Sauder and Magdalena (Mrs. Israel Kraemer), both of St. Jacobs; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive. He was predeceased by a daughter, Mrs. Alice Wilson, and by two sisters and two brothers. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after noon on Thursday, until noon on Saturday, when removal will be made to Breslau Mennonite Church for service at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Dennis Cressman officiating. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. Donations to the Mennonite Central Committee may be made as expressions of sympathy. The family will be in attendance at the funeral home from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
