    WELLESLEY, June 24 - A former resident of Wellesley, Peter Seyler, 85, died suddenly yesterday at the home of his son-in-law, Milton Heintz, on the Bamberg Road. Mr. Seyler was born on March 2, 1854, in Wilmot Township. He was a retired farmer and attended St. Paul's Canada Lutheran church, Wellesley. His wife predeceased him last January.

    Surviving are two sons, Henry of Tavistock and Daniel of Bamberg, two daughters, Mrs. Milton Heintz and Miss Anna Seyler, both of near Bamberg, one brother, David Seyler of Baden and two sisters, Mrs. Conrad Quehl and Mrs. John Heipel of Wellesley.

    Private funeral service will be held at the home of Mr. Heintz on Tuesday at 2 pm followed by public services at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wellesley, at 2: 30 pm. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery with Rev. W. Nolting officiating. Remains will rest at the M. R. Futher Funeral Home until Sunday at 2 pm when they will be removed to the home of his son-in-law, Mr. Heintz.

    Daniel H. Seyler by Record Correspondent Philipsburg, Feb. 22

    Ill the past three weeks, Daniel H. Seyler, a retired farmer of this place, passed away Wednesday afternoon at his home. Mr. Seyler, born in Wellesley Township, a son of Daniel and Gertrude [should read Elizabeth] Seyler, was 75 years of age, and was married here on December 1, 1891 to Annie Wettlaufer. He was a member of the Lutheran faith.

    The widow and one son, William on the homestead, survive with four grandchildren, two brothers, Peter at Wellesley, David of Philipsburg, and two sisters, Caroline, Mrs. Conrad Quehl, and Minnie, Mrs. John Heipel, both of Wellesley.

    The funeral will take place on Saturday afternoon from his late home at 2 o'clock and thence to the Philipsburg Lutheran Church. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. J. L. Kirchhofer will officiate.

    WELLESLEY, Dec. 30. - The death of Mrs. Conrad Quehl, 84, occurred at the home of her son, Edward, Bamberg Rd., today. The daughter of the late Daniel Seyler and Elizabeth Horn, she was born in Wilmot Township in 1862. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wellesley, and an honorary member of the Ladies' Aid. Her husband died in July of this year. Surviving are three sons, William, Robert and Edward, and one sister Mrs. John Heipel, all of Wellesley. The remains will rest at the Futher Funeral Home until Wednesday noon, when removal will be made to the home of her son, Edward, where a private funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock followed by a memorial service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 2: 30. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. A. Binhammer will officiate.

    WELLESLEY - Mrs. Wilhelmine Heipel of Wellesley died Saturday at the K-W Hospital, Kitchener, after an illness of six weeks. She was 89, and was born in Wilmot Township a daughter of the late Daniel Seyler and Elizabeth Horne. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Her husband, John D. Heipel, died nine years ago. Surviving are four sons, Herbert, Edgar, David and Edward, all of Wellesley district; and four grandchildren. The body is at the Futher Funeral Home. A private service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 2: 15. Rev. A.W. Lotz will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

    David Seyler

    A former well known and esteemed resident of Philipsburg, Mr. David Seyler, passed away at his home in Baden on Tuesday, Jan. 20th, at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 10 days. He had been ill for several months.

    The deceased was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Seyler and was born in Wilmot on Nov. 10, 1867. He was married on June 1, 1901, to Leah Wettlaufer and farmed successfully for many years at Philipsburg. Six years ago he disposed of the farm to his son, Clayton, and retired to Baden. In religion the deceased was a Lutheran and a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church at Philipsburg and took active part in church work. Since residing in Baden he was also a member of the Lutheran church there.

    Besides his widow, he leaves in bereavement two sons, Nelson, in North Easthope, and Clayton, on the homestead, two daughters, (Ella), Mrs. Elmer Doering, of Philipsburg, and Viola, at home, two sisters, Mrs. Conrad Quehl and Mrs. John Heimpel, Wellesley.

    The funeral will be held this Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late home in Baden to Zion Lutheran Church, Philipsburg, for service. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. G. R. Schultz, the pastor, will be in charge of the funeral services

    City Woman Takes Ill Motoring From Border

    WINDSOR, Oct. 12. - (CP) - Taken ill while motoring from Detroit to her home in Kitchener last night, Mrs Henry Steiner was rushed by ambulance from Belle River to hospital here. She was unconscious when she arrived at the hospital and her condition today is serious.

    Mrs. Henry Steiner's Daughters Called to Her Bedside

    WINDSOR, Ont Oct. 14°-(CP)- Condition of Mrs Henry Steiner. 53, 65 Albert street south, Kitchener, was "very poor." hospital authorities said today. Mrs. Steiner suffered a stroke Monday while driving home from Detroit with her husband and physicians fear she will not survive.

    Mrs. Steiner's condition was considered so serious by hospital authorities yesterday that both her daughters, Valeria and Marie, were called back to their mother's bed side in Windsor. No word has been received by the girls friends here since they left yesterday.

    The two girls had been with their mother in Windsor on Tuesday and they had just returned to work here Wednesday when they were called back again.

    Miss Marie Steiner told The Record yesterday that Mrs. Steiner's present attack was the first that she had ever had. Outwardly at any rate her mother was in the best of health when she left home for her holiday, Miss Steiner said.

    KITCHENER WOMAN DIES IN WINDSOR

    Mrs. Mary Steiner Suffers Stroke on Her Way Home


    Stricken with a stroke on Monday while driving to her home in Kitchener from Detroit, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Steiner, 53, wife of Mr. Henry Steiner, 65 Albert street. Kitchener, died at a Windsor hospital yesterday. She was unconscious most of the time since admittance to the hospital.

    Born in New Hamburg in April. 1884, the deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Schmidt. She was married in New Hamburg in October, 1912. Mrs. Steiner was a member of the Lutheran church.

    Surviving are her husband, two children, Valeria and Marie, both of Kitchener, and one sister, Mrs. Joseph Kocsis, Detroit, Mich.

    Funeral services will be public on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home to Trinity Lutheran church. New Hamburg, at 3 o'clock, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg. Rev. J. Schmieder will officiate

    Remains will rest at her late residence, 65 Albert street, until Sunday morning when they will be removed to the funeral home.

    Two daughters are the only children of the stricken woman.

    WELLESLEY, May 3. William Quehl. 55. lifelong farmer of this district, died early this morning at his home on the Bamberg Rd. He had been in poor health for some time but became seriously ill two days ago.

    Mr. Quehl was born at Amulree in 1892, a son of the late Conrad Quehl and Caroline Seyler. both of whom died last year. In 1919 he was married to Elizabeth Schmidt of Heidelberg.

    Surviving besides his wife are two sons Howard and Norbert, at home: two brothers, Robert and Edward, realding on the Bamberg Rd.

    The funeral will be held Monday afternoon with a short service at the home at 2 o'clock followed by a memorial service at 2:30 at St. Paul's Canadian Lutheran Church, Wellesley, of which Mr. Quehl was a member The Rev. Herbert Binhammer will be in charge, Until the funeral, the body will be at the family home.

Predeceased by two brothers, William and his twin brother, Edward. Visitation at the Further Bros. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Heipel. He farmed in Wilmot Township, retiring to Wellesley 16 years ago. Member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wellesley.

    Dear husband of Delphine Koenig; dear father of Gerald of Route 1, Baden; brother of Edgar and Edward, both of Wellesley; also survived by four grandchildren; predeceased by one brother.

    Friends may call at The Futher Bros. Funeral Home, Wellesley where the family will receive friends this evening from 7-9 pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.     Mrs. Lautenschlager was a long-time and faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran in Kitchener and the Historical Automobile Society of Canada.

    WELLESLEY After being in ill health for several months, Howard Quehl, 32, of Wellesley, died suddenly last night at his home on the Bamberg road. Born Feb. 27, 1921, he was the son of Mrs. Eliza: beth Quehl and the late William Quehl. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wellesley.

    One brother, Norbert, at home, survives, besides his mother.

    Private funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the home with public services at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Rev. H. Binhammer and Rev. A. W. Lotz will officiate and burial will be in St. Paul's cemetery. The body is at the Futher Funeral Home until Sunday at 1 p.m. when it will be taken to the residence.

    LORNE JOHN QUEHL - 1930 - 2009 - Lorne John Quehl, of St. Jacobs, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, January 30, 2009 at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener in his 79th year. Lorne was born in Wellesley Township, February 1, 1930. Son of the late Edward H. Quehl and the late Nellie Hoffman. Loving and caring father of Sharon Quehl-Keating and husband John and his grandsons, Johnathan and Riley. Dear brother of Ruby and her husband Lorne Hackbart of Wellesley. Remembered by nieces, Sandra Quehl and Heather Watts, Sherry Quehl, Lynda Timms (Hackbart) and husband Laurie, Brenda Dinsmore (Hackbart) and husband Jamie. Predeceased by brother, Ralph Quehl and wife Miriam. Special thanks to the staff of St. Mary's General Hospital and St. Jacob's Place for taking great care of our Lorne.     Obituary of Norma Lillian Weiler

    Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Clair Hills Retirement residence. Norma was born 86 years ago in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Elmer Doering and former Ella Seyler.

    Norma will be dearly missed by her husband Armand (Mike) Weiler with whom she married on August 8, 1953. Cherished mother of Michael and Mary Ann Weiler of New Hamburg, Timothy Weiler and Sheila Lobrutto of St. Clements and Tamara and Robert Cranston of Brighton. Norma was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by; Jonathan and Ana Weiler and their children Kaylee and Jacob; Daniel Weiler and friend Aimee, Lindsay and Matt Kelly and their children Hannah, Maxwell and August; Amanda and Jeff Tobias and daughter Isla; Richard and Rhonda Weiler and their children Dakota, Harper and River; Natalie Cranston, Donald Cranston and Nikolas Lobrutto. Survived by her sister Karolyn Heubner and sister-in-law Virginia Weiler as well as nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother and father-in-law Joe and Betty Weiler as well as by her brother and sister-in-law Walter and Ruth Doering, and brothers-in-law Rev. Norris Heubner and Roger Weiler.

    Norma had a passion for music and played the organ at church for 47 years. Norma worked for more then 20 years at the Baden Cheese Factory. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending much of her time quilting, knitting, sewing and crocheting. Family meant the world to Norma and Mike. Many evenings were spent watching the Toronto Maple Leafs or the Toronto Blue Jays, playing cards and enjoying great meals or some quality baking except for Tuesday, which was BINGO night!

    Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 2 \endash 4 & 7 \endash 9 p.m. The funeral will take place on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, Baden with Pastor Bonnie Shelter-Brown officiating. He was born 89 years ago and was the son of the late Elmer and Ella (Seyler) Doering. He farmed in Philipsburg until his retirement in 1993. Walter was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Philipsburg. Beloved husband of Ruth E. Doering who predeceased him on October 29, 2009. Loving father of Ronald Doering (Susan) of Waterloo, Robert Doering (Dee Hughes) and Mark (Tammy) Doering all of Kitchener.
