Notes:

Robert Short Meets Death While Employed at the Watson Works - A shocking accident took place at The John Watson Mfg. Co.'s shops early yesterday (Wednesday) morning; resulting in the death of Mr. Robert Short, an employee. It appears that Short and his mate, Mr. Robert Dyer, were operating a rip saw in the wood-working department, when a board thrown from the saw struck Mr. Short on the left temple, cutting a big gash just above the eye and penetrating the brain. The unfortunate man was conveyed in an auto to Dr. Woolner's office; but died a few minutes after reaching there. He was an exemplary young man, a member of Christ Church, and was to have been married shortly. He was born 27 years ago at Hazlemere, Eng., where his parents still reside. Two brothers, Fred, Ayr, and Arthur, Paris, and a sister, Mrs. Kellogg, are in Canada, while another brother, Wilfred, fell in the service of his country on the Western front. As we go to press an inquest is being arranged for.
