HENRY KAVELMAN 1917 - 2009 Henry died peacefully at Nithview Home in New Hamburg, on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, in his 93rd year. Predeceased by his wives, Frances (nee Lotz) in 1974 and Mildred Wurm in 2004. Survived by his son-in-law, Fred Leu of Philipsburg (Henry's daughter, Marianne deceased in 2007); sons, Earl and wife Adele of Clifford and Roy and wife Marie of Kitchener. Remembered by eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Earl, Katherine and Leona and brother-in-law of Margaret and Olivia. Also predeceased by two grandsons, Jim and Edward; two brothers, Neil and Howard; his parents, Fred and Evelyn (nee Armstrong); step-father, Jim Wood; and several in-laws. A special thank you is extended to the staff at Nithview Home for their exceptional care. Relatives and friends are invited to the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo for visitation on Friday, September 11 from 12 - 2 p.m. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m., Friday. A reception will immediately follow the service in the funeral home's Fireside Reception Room. Interment at Roseville Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the C.N.I.B., the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or a charity of choice by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445. In living memory of Henry, the funeral home will make a donation to the Trees for Learning Program.

LEU, Marianne - Passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Thursday, October 18, 2007, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Marianne resided in Philipsburg. She was born 65 years ago in Wellesley township, a daughter of Henry Kavelman of New Hamburg and the late Francis (Lotz) Kavelman. Marianne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hamburg. Loving wife of Fred Leu, whom she married June 17, 1961. Dear mother of Barbara and her husband Greg Steeves of Cooksville, Tenn., Carl Leu, and Robert and his wife Heather Leu, all of Baden. Sadly missed by her ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also remembered by brothers, Earl and his wife Adele Kavelman of Clifford, Roy and his wife Marie Kavelman of Kitchener; brothers-in-law, Ken and his wife Lynn Leu of Manitoulin Island, James Leu of Mass., and by a number of nieces and nephews. Marianne was predeceased by two sons, Edward (1979) and James (1984) as well as by a sister in infancy and her step-mother, Mildred Kavelman. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Sunday October 21, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. On Monday October 22nd, 2007 transfer will be made to Trinity Lutheran Church for the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Andre Lavergne and Rev. Anne Anderson officiating. Burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association.
