    Body of Clayton Collison found in river

    The body of a missing Cambridge man was found floating in the Grand River in Kitchener's east end Tuesday morning.

    Clayton Collison's body was discovered around 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Grand River near Kolb Park, not far from Victoria Street North and Centennial Road, by a man who was fishing in the area.

    Collision was a 20-year-old Cambridge man who went missing early Saturday morning and was last seen on Victoria.

    According to police, he had become separated from a friend while in an area not far from where the body was found. Earlier in the night, he had been at an Oktoberfest event at Bingemans.

    Collison's disappearance had prompted a massive police and community search, with more than 100 people gathering in the area on Monday to look for him.....

    COLLISON, Clayton

    Drowned tragically as a result of an accident on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at age 20. Loving son of Kelly Neely and Bill Collison. Adored brother of Lorne Neely, Kayla (Rob) Miller and Abigail Collison. Precious grandson of Joan Falsetto. Cherished uncle of Aiden and Brianna Miller. Clay will be deeply missed by his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Clayton was predeceased by grandparents, Tom and Kay Collison, Eddie MacDougall and Al Falsetto Sr. and by aunts Linda Collison, Wendy Robins and uncle Ray Robins. Clayton was a dedicated employee of Kal Tire and was pursuing an opportunity with the Canadian Armed Forces. Clayton was the newest member of the Motorlords Car Club and loved to work on his #11C stock car. As a defensive lineman with both the Cambridge Lions Football Club and the Preston High School 2012 undefeated WCSSAA Championship Team. Clayton had many close friendships with sports teams and racing competitors, all across Ontario. Clayton's family will receive relatives and friends at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge, on Monday, October 16, from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesday, October 17, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, will be held on Wednesday, October 18, at 11 a.m., at St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge.
