    Snider.- Solomon S. Snider was born Jan. 11, 1846; died at the home of his son, Oliver Snider, Oct. 13, 1929; aged 83 y. 9 m. 2 d. He was a faithful member of the Mennonite Church. He had a friendly disposition and was loved by all. On Dec. 1, 1868, he was married to Elizabeth Martin, who preceded him in death, Feb. 11, 1896. This union was blessed with five children (Mrs. Angeline Musselman, who died Jan. 29, 1919; Mrs. Rachel Shantz, Addison, Oliver, and Irvin. He also leaves 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. On Sept. 26, 1897, he was married to Susannah Shantz, who also survives him.

    Snider. --- Addison M., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Snider, was born May 13, 1877; died Oct. 30, 1950, at his residence, Elmira, Ont.; aged 73 y. 5 m. 17 d. On Sept. 2, 1903, he was married to Lucinda Gingerich, who died Aug. 18, 1937. On April 8, 1939, he married Leah Gingrich. Surviving are his wife, one daughter (Margaret-Mrs. John Hurst, Kitchener, Ont.), 2 brothers (Oliver D., Elmira; Irvin A., Guernsey, Sask), one sister (Rachel-Mrs. Alvin Shantz, Elmira, Ont.), and 3 grandchildren. He united with the Mennonite Church in his younger years and was a faithful member attending services regularly until the Sunday prior to his decease. Funeral services were held Oct. 3, at the Mennonite Church, Elmira, Ont., in charge of Howard S. Bauman, assisted by Reuben Dettwiler. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

    ELMIRA, Oct. 31. Addison M. Snider, 73, died last night at his residence, 10 James St., after a brief illness.

    A native of Woolwich Township, Mr. Snider was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Snider. He resided in Elmira since 1926, when he retired from farming.

    Surviving, besides his wife, the former Leah Gingrich, are one daughter, Mrs. John (Margaret) Hurst, Kitchener; two brothers, Oliver D. Snider, Elmira, and Irvin Snider, Guernsey, Sask.; one sister, Mrs. Alvin Shantz, Elmira, and three grandchildren.

    Mr. Snider's first wife, the former Lucinda Gingrich, predeceased him in 1937.

    The body is resting at he Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until 9 a.m., Friday. The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the residence, with a service later at Elmira Mennonite Church. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

    Snider, Oliver, son of Solomon and Elizabeth (Martin) Snider, was born at Floradale, Ont., Dec. 30, 1878; died at South Waterloo Hospital, Galt, Ont., from heart illness, Dec. 13, 1967; aged 88 y. 11m. 13 d. On Dec. 31, 1902, he was married to Louisa Weber, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter (Mrs. Beulah Musselman), 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. One son, (Mahlon) preceded him in death. In 1909 he was ordained to the ministry and in 1936 was ordained bishop, serving the Floradale and Elmira congregations. He was a member of the Elmira Church, where funeral services were held Dec. 16, with Vernon Leis, Howard Bauman, and Newton Gingerich officiating.

On April 10, 1904, he was married to Lucinda Schmitt, who died March 3, 1957. Surviving are 2 sons (Elmer and Kenneth), 2 daughters (Irva - Mrs. David Rosenburger and Nelda - Mrs. Addison Gingrich), 16 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. In 1918 he moved to the Guernsey district where he farmed until 1947, when he took up residence in Guernsey. He attended the United Church in Watrous

    MRS. ERMINA BAUMAN

    Mrs. Ermina Bauman, 68, of 16 King St., Elmira died at the Elmira Private Hospital on Saturday, May 27, after a lengthy illness.

    She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Musselman of Peel Township.

    In October, 1919, she married Ira Bauman, and he died in 1956.

    Mrs. Bauman was a member of St. Jacobs Mennonite Church.

    Surviving are one daughter, Mildred of Elmira, a sister, Mrs. Cleason (Elsie) Martin of Waterloo and three brothers, Leslie and Edgar of Preston and Eldon of Detroit. A brother Herbert predeceased her in 1939.

    The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home until Monday noon when removal was made to St. Jacobs Mennonite church for memorial service. Burial was in St. Jacob's Mennonite Cemetery. Rev. Raymond Kramer and Rev. Howard Bauman officiated.

He was born at Elmira, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Shantz., In 1919 he married Ida Snyder of Elmira and they farmed about one mile from St. George. Surviving are his wife and two sons, Homer of Dundas and Sanford of St. George; one brother, Sylvan, of Elmira and one sister, Mrs. Rueben (Elma ) Shantz of Kitchener and seven grandchildren.     Mahlon C. Snider, 53, of 11 Weigel Ave., Elmira, died Friday, Sept. 20, at Victoria Hospital, London, Ont., after a Lengthy illness.

    A son of Bishop and Mrs. Oliver D. Snider, he was born in Elmira. Jan. 2, 1910. He was a member of the Elmira Mennonite Church and the Elmira and District Christian Business Men's committee.

    Surviving besides his parents are his wife, the former Lena Horst, whom he married in September, 1935; three sons, Murray, Stewart and Clare, at home; a daughter Sharon, at home and a sister, Mrs. George (Beulah) Musselman of Elmira.

    The body was at the DreisInger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Monday noon when removal was made to the Elmira Mennonite Church for the funeral. Burial took place in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Howard S. Bauman and Rev. Simon Martin officiated.

    Gerry Musselman. Of Cambridge, Gerry passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, surrounded by his family on Monday, April 22, 2019 at the age of 88.

    Predeceased by Gloria (Ruby), his wife of 59 years, Gerry is survived by his daughter Karey Musselman and her husband Orlando Rivera; his daughter Carolyn Musselman, her husband Ekke Wigboldus and their daughter Leanna; his son Mark Musselman, his wife Yael Zaretsky and their children Lucas, Claire, Sloane and Katie; and by his sister Audrey Musselman.

    Born in Kitchener to Leslie and Ida Musselman, Gerry was raised and educated in Cambridge (Preston) and graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Toronto in 1956. Gerry founded an architectural practice with three of his classmates and worked his entire career with MMMC Architects (formerly Mark Musselman McIntyre & Combe, Architects). The firm designed a wide variety of buildings throughout Ontario with a particular specialty in heath care facilities; seniors and assisted-living homes; churches and other places of worship; primary, secondary and post-secondary educational facilities; and arts and cultural spaces. Gerry's favourites include the Cambridge Public Library, the Galt Centennial Fountain, Galt's Central School, and the Gore Mutual Headquarters. An active member of the Mennonite church throughout his life, Gerry was instrumental in the development and design of Fairview Mennonite Home and apartments, Parkwood Mennonite Senior's Community and Nithview Mennonite Home.

    Gerry possessed a lifelong passion for the protection, preservation and restoration of heritage buildings. He worked to establish and lead Heritage Cambridge as an organization to advocate for the preservation of important heritage buildings in the region. One of Gerry's proudest professional achievements was his leadership of the fight to save the Preston Public School building from demolition and his subsequent oversight of the conversion of this 1869 heritage stone school to seniors' housing. Gerry worked with others to ensure the protection and restoration of the Detweiler Meetinghouse in Roseville, the only surviving stone meetinghouse built by Mennonite pioneers in Ontario.

    Friends are invited to visit with Gerry's family at the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 5 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held at Detweiler Meetinghouse in Roseville on Friday, April 26, at 2:00 pm. with Scott Brubacker-Zehr, Minister at Rockway Mennonite Church, officiating. Interment in the Roseville Mennonite Cemetery and reception to follow.

    Murray Snider passed away peacefully into the presence of God on October 31, 2009 at Leisureworld Care Centre, Elmira, at the age of 70. Murray will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Loretta (Martin); son, Ryan Snider, his wife Tricia and their daughter, Savannah of Waterloo; daughter, Kara Bergstrom and her husband Kent of Abbotsford, BC. He is survived by his siblings, Stewart Snider (Gail) of Southampton; Clare Snider (Brenda) of Elmira; and Sharon Snyder (Maynard) of Kitchener; sister-in-law Doris Reier (Gord) of Waterloo; sister-in-law Pauline Gingrich (Gary) of Waterloo; mother-in-law, Annie Martin of St. Jacobs and his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Mahlon C. Snider (1963); his mother, Lena (Horst) Snider Frey (2003) and his father-in-law, Henry A Martin (1990). Murray spent most of his working years as a dedicated teacher in Kitchener and Newfoundland and enjoyed being the principal of an International School in Kenya. He taught young people at church and enjoyed singing in various local choirs. His teaching career was cut short when he was diagnosed with young onset of Parkinson's at the age of 45. Murray was proud of his family and loved them deeply. He was so pleased to be able to walk unaided at both children's weddings before losing his mobility. A very special thank you is extended to long-time friends from his Care Group for their love and support through the years. With deep gratitude to the staff, caregivers and residents at Leisureworld for the medical, personal and spiritual care and friendship extended to Murray. The family will receive friends and relatives at a visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S. Waterloo, on Friday, November 6 , 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service of worship and remembrance will be held at Kitchener Mennonite Brethren Church, 19 Ottawa St. N. Kitchener on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow the service at the church. A private burial will take place. In his memory, donations to the Mennonite Central Committee or the Parkinson's Society would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy and may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.     BAUMAN, M. Rita Peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 10, 2014 at K.W. Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Rita (Musselman) Bauman, age 77 years, of Elmira, formerly of West Montrose and RR 1, Waterloo. Beloved wife of the late Omer M. Bauman (2008). Dear mother of Darla and Roger Steinmann of West Montrose, Greg Bauman of Breslau, and Jeff Bauman of Elmira. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Joel, Noah and Jacob Steinmann; Adam, Derry and Megan Bauman. Sister of Carol and Paul Brownson of Stirling, and sister-in-law of Clare and Eileen Bauman, Alice Burkhart and the late Ozias Burkhart, Lester and Linda Bauman, Vera and Laverne Bauman. Also sadly missed by her nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents George and Beulah (Snider) Musselman. At Rita's request, cremation has taken place. The family will receive their relatives and friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira for a memorial visitation on Saturday, March 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate the life and faith of Rita will be held at the Elmira Mennonite Church on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 2 p.m. Family interment of cremated remains will be in Elmira Mennonite Cemetery on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. In her memory, donations to Mennonite Central Committee or Grand River Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. www.dreisingerfuneralhome.com
