    NEW HAMBURG.-Mr. Valenine Henry Zoeller, 77, well known Wilmot township farmer died at his home last Wednesday. For the past two years he had been in failing health but it was only for the last two weeks that his condition was considered serious. He was born 1876 on the farm on which he died. He was the son of the late Henry Zoeller and Catherine Veit. Mr. Zoeller was an active participant in municipal and church affairs having served on the Wilmot township council for 12 years and also reeve from 1928 to 1932. He was a past president of the Wilmot Agricultural Society, serving in 1934-35, and was an honorary director of the society at the time of his death. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hamburg and had held the office of treasurer in this church for 25 years. His wife, the former Mary Ann Steiner, predeceased him in 1931.

    Surviving are two sons, Austin, of the homestead near Wilmot Centre and Henry L. of Islington. There are also four grandchildren.

    One son, George, died in infancy. Memorial services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Sat- urday afternoon with Rev. Arthur Buehlow presiding.

    ZOELLER, Austin Stanley March 31, 1917 - August 6, 2014 Died peacefully at Columbia Forest Long Term Care on August 6, 2014 in his 98th year. Loving father of Jayne (Terry) Hallman of Kitchener and Bob (Jacquie) Zoeller of New Hamburg. Grandfather of Dr. Lisa Hallman (Dr. Karl Looper) of Montreal and Derek (Shae) Hallman of Thorndale. Great-grandfather of Alison, Jessica, and Brooke Looper; and Grant and Kirk Hallman. Uncle of Joyce (David) Faust, Pat (Lionel) Redford, and Bill (Debbie) Zoeller and families. Also remembered by Kathryn Lebold-Jones, Aaron Lebold, and their families. Son of the late Valentine and Maryann (Steiner) Zoeller. Predeceased by his wife Margaret; brothers Henry, George(in infancy); and sister-in-law Muriel. Austin lived in the Region of Waterloo all his life, farming on the family homestead (1843) near New Hamburg until retirement to Waterloo in 1990. He volunteered as secretary of the Wilmot Township Plowman's Assoc. for 25 years; actively worked for the Wilmot Agricultural Society, serving as president for a term; served on the church council at Trinity Lutheran Church(New Hamburg); and was a Wilmot Township councillor for two terms. Austin also did corn development research for Seagram Distilleries. Other terms of employment were at Master Feeds and University of Waterloo. Austin and Margaret loved to travel. Highlights include visiting a whale watching station in Tromso, Norway; climbing the Great Wall of China; sailing the Yangtze River; and touring on the Amazon River. Many winters were spent at a condo in Bonita Springs, Florida. Going dancing was a Saturday night ritual where they enjoyed the company of numerous friends. After moving to Waterloo 24 years ago, Austin and Margaret became members of St. John's Lutheran Church. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in New Hamburg. Special thanks to the Watson House staff at Columbia Forest for their compassionate care over the past 2 years.     In Loving Memory Died In Wilmot, on Sunday, December 21st, 1919, George William Zoeller Youngest Son of Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Zoeller Aged 1 year and 28 days. Funeral Will take place from his parents' residence on Wednesday, December 24th, at 1.30 o'clock p.m., to Trinity Lutheran Church, thence to Riverside Cemetery. Friends and acquaintances will please accept this intimation.
