    Notes:

COFFIN, George E. - On Monday, October 22, 2007, in his 77th year, at South Bruce Grey Health Centre-Kincardine, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. George was born to Mr. and Mrs. Claude S. Coffin on July 13, 1931 in Joe Batt's Arm, Newfoundland. Survived by his forever devoted wife and best friend of 53 years Catherine (Kay). Devoted father and hero to Sharon (Ted) Graham, Cindy (Brian) Hamilton, Jennifer (Andrew) Snell, and Gigi (Ted) Werner. Proud Papa/Pappy to long-awaited male offspring, Josh and Jake Graham, Jeffery and Justin Hamilton, Daniel Rapien, Joey and George Snell and Sam Werner. Loving great-grandpap to Liam Graham. A longtime resident of Ayr, Ontario, George was employed at the Canadian General Tower in Cambridge until his retirement in 1992. Following retirement, George and Kay's dreams of settling back home in Newfoundland were thwarted by their four persistent (clingy) daughters and the compromise was made for them to settle within driving distance on the shores of Lake Huron in Point Clark. George proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces in both the Army and Navy and served in the Special Forces overseas during the Korean War. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch no. 183 Kincardine and the Korean Veterans Association, Unit 13. Predeceased by his parents, as well as brothers, Allen and Clifton and sister, Eva Higgins. Our dad was an incredible role model, our inspiration and our biggest cheerleader. He taught us to laugh and to love and to live life to the fullest. Dad taught us to be generous, kind and forgiving. Dad, you faced each day with courage, strength and determination and always with incredible dignity. You are our hero and we will try to do you proud. We love you!! Private family arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home , 757 Princes Street, Kincardine, Ontario, N2Z 1Z5 (519) 396-2701. Memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Portrait and memorial online at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com
