    Alan Hodge Dies From Heart Attack

    Alan G. Hodge. 30, managing director of radio station CKKW was stricken at a K-W Rotary Club luncheon at the Westmount Golf Club at noon today ask died, apparently of a heart attack. He was dead on arrival at K-W Hospital.

    Mr. Hodge had complained yesterday of feeling ill and weir !home early from has office.

    He complained of chest pains at today's luncheon, shortly be fore he suddenly collapsed. A club member, Dr. Donald Bastedo, was at his side immediately but was unable to revive him

    At 30, Mr. Hodge was one of the youngest radio station operators In Canada. He had worked at radio station CJOY, Guelph, for two years before becoming news director of television station CKCO-TV here in 1954.

    He left that station four years later to assist in the setting up of CKKW. Associated with him were Gordon R. Brock, Albert Dunker, Harold Parker and Nyle Futher.

    Born May 17. 1931, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Cyril Hodge of West Vancouver. On Feb. 3 this year he was married at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church to the former Gail Shoemaker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Shoemaker, 17 Elkington Drive.

    Mr. and Mrs. Hodge lived on Carson street, RR 3. Kitchener.

    Other than his mild illness yesterday, Ur. Hodge had appeared in excellent health before being stricken today.

    He was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, the K W Rotary Club and the K-W Press Club. The body will be at the Schreiter Sandrock Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.

    Donations to the K.W Rotary Children's Centre will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.
