    MALCOLM, Florence Christine

    Miss Florence Malcolm, of The Nanning House, Cambridge, died suddenly, Wednesday, November 9, 1994. Born in Galt, May 31, 1904. She was the daughter of the late John Malcolm and Florence Hutton. Miss Malcolm was a retired teacher, having taught for 41 years, at Showers Corners, Norval and Galt. For 31 years, she pioneered in the field of special education. A lifelong member of Central Presbyterian Church, Miss Malcolm was a life member of the Women's Missionary Society. She was also a charter member and past president of the Business and Professional Women's Association. She was the first president of the South Waterloo Association, for Retarded Children (now the Cambridge Association for the Mentally Handicapped). Miss Malcolm is survived by her sister, Miss Anna Malcolm, nephews, Peter of Hagersville and Douglas of Calgary and great-nephews and niece, Robert, Scott, Gordon, Robert and Kim, and her cousin, Robert Malcolm of Cambridge. She was predeceased by her sisters, Ruth and Margaret and her brother Robert. There will be no funeral home visitation. The funeral will take place from Central Presbyterian Church, Cambridge, on Saturday, November 12, at 2: 00 p.m. Interment in Mount View Cemetery.
