    Axt, Livia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Cressman, was born in Blenheim Twp., Ont., Mar. 15, 1878; died at Fairview Mennonite Home, Preston, Ont., May 30, 1967; aged 89 y. 2 m. 15 d. She was married to Jacob Axt, who died June 25, 1960. Surviving are 6 children (Russel, Andrew, Lillian--Mrs. Stanley Bowman, Luella, Alice--Mrs. Henry Gingerich, and Irene--Mrs. David Cathcart), one sister (Ada--Mrs. Irvin Gimbel), and 4 grandchildren. She was a member of the Shantz Church, where funeral services were held June 2, with Leslie Witmer and Curtis Cressman officiating.

    AXT, Russell Arnold - Peacefully, on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at Parkwood Mennonite Home, Waterloo, Russell Axt, formerly of RR 2, Petersburg. He was born in Guernsey, Sask., 90 years ago, a son of the late Jacob and Livia (Cressman) Axt. Russell was a member of Grace Mennonite Fellowship, 2111 Bean Rd., RR 1, New Hamburg. Russell had farmed in Wilmot township for many years. He was an honorary life member of Ray of Hope Inc. and had volunteered with the Mennonite Disaster Service. Dear brother of Irene Cathcart, Luella Axt and Lillian Bowman, all of Cambridge and Alice Gingrich of Kitchener. Also missed by nieces, Cheryl Lowe, Janet Eade, Marilyn Hovinga and Laurel Reibling and a number of grandnieces and grand-nephews. Russell was predeceased by a brother, Andrew; brothers-in-law, Stanley Bowman, David Cathcart and Henry Gingrich. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, tonight (Friday) from 7-9 p.m. On Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002 transfer will be made to Shantz Mennonite Church for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Earl Koch and Pastor Howard Bean officiating. Burial in Shantz Mennonite Cemetery, RR 2, Baden. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Christian Aid Ministries or Parkwood Mennonite Home.

Dear sister of Irene Cathcart of Cambridge, Lillian Bowman and Alice Gingrich, both of Kitchener; sadly missed by her nieces, Cheryl Lowe, Janet Eade, Marilyn Hovinga and Laurel Reibling. Predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Livia Axt and two brothers, Andrew and Russell. Luella was a retired registered nurse. Luella's family will receive friends at the Edward R.     BOWMAN, Lillian (nee Axt) - Passed away, peacefully, at Village of Winston Park, on Friday, December 5, 2003 in her 87th year. Lillian was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stanley Bowman in 1991. Loving mother of Cheryl and her husband Ron Lowe of Kitchener. Proud and loving grandmother of Vicki and Scott Parry, Caron Lowe and Melanie Christou, Meredith and William Teng and Adam Lowe and great-grandmother of Andrew Teng. Lillian is also survived by her sister, Alice Gingerich; sister-in-law, Anna Bowman and brother-in-law, Delton Bowman and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters, Luella Axt and Irene Cathcart and brothers, Andrew and Russell Axt. Friends are invited to share their memories of Lillian with her family at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South in Waterloo on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A private graveside committal service will be held Wednesday morning at First Mennonite Cemetery. The memorial service to celebrate Lillian's life and faith will be held at First Mennonite Church on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at 11 a.m. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family in the fellowship hall of Stirling Ave. Mennonite Church for refreshments and a time to visit.     Axt, Andrew Ralph, son of Jacob and Livia (Cressman) Axt, was born at Guernsey, Sask., Feb. 1, 1918; died at his home in Petersburg, Ont., Feb. 6, 1979; aged 61 y. Surviving are one brother (Russel), and 4 sisters (Irene-Mrs. David Cathcart, Luella Axt, Lillian-Mrs. Stanley Bowman and Alice-Mrs. Henry Gingerich). On Aug. 23, 1953, he was ordained deacon and served Baden and New Hamburg Conservative churches. He was a member of New Hamburg Conservative Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Feb. 8, in charge of Elmer Grove, Timothy Martin, and Merlin Bender; interment in Shantz Mennonite Cemetery.

    GINGRICH, Alice Marie Alice died peacefully at Heritage House in St. Jacobs on Thursday, December 2, 2010, age 88 years. She was lifted up in the gentle caring arms of Jesus and taken Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry Mervin Gingrich (1988). She is survived by daughters Janet Eade, Marilyn Hovinga (Fred) and Laurel Reibling. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Melanie Girard (Conrad), Ryan Eade, Andrea Robinson (Anthony), Kaitlin Reibling, Scott Hovinga (Michelle), Kristy Hovinga, Ben Hovinga, and her great-grandchildren Stephanie Girard, Seth Girard, Bryn Fuller, Zachary Fuller and Isabella Hovinga. She is survived by brother-in-law Abner Gingrich and sisters-in-law Esther Armishaw (Douglas), Nancy MacPherson (Ossian) and Beth Gingrich. She will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Alice was the sole survivor of her family and was predeceased by her parents, Livia (Cressman) and Jacob Axt; sisters, Irene Cathcart, Lillian Bowman, Luella Axt; brothers, Andrew Axt and Russell Axt; brothers-in-law, Stanley Bowman, David Cathcart, Bruce Barkey, Howard Koehler, Mahlon Gingrich; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Gingrich, Alice Barkey, Edna Koehler and Joyce Gingrich. Friends may call at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday, December 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Alice's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. To honour Mom's wishes, a private family interment will be held before the celebration.
