    KUNTZ, Lorne 1928-2009 Peacefully on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Queensway Carlton Hospital in Ottawa at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Elaine (nee Flowers) of Ottawa. Dear father of Lorne Jr. and his wife Joanne Kuntz, Elaine Voisin, Raymond and his wife Bonnie Kuntz, Diane Hinsperger and friend Bryan Eckstein, Darlene Kuntz, Michael Kuntz and Anne Marie Correia and her friend Svend Jacobsen. Lorne was very proud of his grandchildren Jody, Kevin, Ben, Heather, Harmony, Simon, Tim, Jamie, Jessica, Amanda, Nathaniel, Andrew, Rebecca, Sarah, Ashley and Christopher and is also survived by two great grandchildren Grace and Georgia. Dear brother of Elmer, Albert, Dorothy Graves, Bernice Schnarr, Rita Hehn, Helen Gabel, and Jim. Also survived by sister-in-law Velma Kuntz. Lorne will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by Elaine's family in Ottawa, Ontario. Lorne was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Caroline (nee Walter), one brother Harvey, and two sons-in-law Dennis Hinsperger and George Voisin. Lorne was an avid curler and was proud of his outstanding curling pin collection which he was invited to display at many bonspiels across Canada. Lorne held an honorary membership at the Knights of Columbus #1504 in Kitchener. Lorne was also a longtime member of the K-W Granite Club. Lorne owned and operated Lorne Kuntz and sons Haulage for many years. Visitation will be held at Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home & Chapel (51 Benton St. at Church St., Kitchener) on Monday (today) from 7-9 p.m. and will continue on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a Knights of Columbus Service at 8 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Michael's R.C Church (240 Hemlock St., Kitchener) on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Con O'Mahony officiating. Interment to follow at St. Clement's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation and may be arranged by calling the funeral home at 519-742-4481 519-742-4481.
