Passed away on Monday August 19, 2013 at her residence Nithview Community, New Hamburg. She was born 91 years ago in Wilmot Township and was the daughter of the late Moses & Rachel (Lichti) Mayer.

Beloved wife of the late William Gingerich who predeceased her May 15, 1997. Loving mother of Paul & wife Nancy Gingerich of New Hamburg, Mary Gingerich of London. Sadly missed by her granddaughters Jacquie & Sean East, Jeannette & Ehren Boyes, Jody & Phil Heintz, Jill & Josh Weber and her great-grandchildren T.J., Daniel, Rebekah, Prudence, Lyndon, Cassidy, Milo, Keegan, Bree and Cora. Remembered by her sister-in-law Helena Zehr of New Hamburg. Viola was predeceased by her sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Elmer & Katie Mayer, Aaron Mayer, Adeline & Simon Gingerich, Clarence & Mabel Mayer, Allen & Lucinda Mayer, Elmina & Jerry Wismer, Mabel & Elmer Streicher, William & Ruth Mayer, Edgar & Dorothy Mayer, Joseph & Ruth Gingerich, Elmina & Noah Brenneman and Austin Zehr.

Viola was a member of St. Agatha Mennonite Church, St. Agatha.

Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Wednesday August 21, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. The funeral service will take place on Thursday August 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Agatha Mennonite Church with Pastor Doug Snyder officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee or the House of Friendship, Kitchener.
