Edith (Macke) Brox was born in Carrick township, November 5, 1893. Along with her husband William they owned and operated Brox Florist and Glad Gardens. Beloved wife of the late William G. Brox (1977). Dear mother of Rev. Howard and Kay Brox of Oakville, Donald and Dorie Brox of Elmira. Loving grandmother of Timothy, Virginia, Rogan, Patricia Brox, Debbie Ferguson, Bill Brox and Karen Martin and 13 great-grandchildren. Sister of Mrs. Edna Koenig of Mildmay. Predeceased by two brothers and one sister. The family will receive friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, on Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. A private family committal service will be held Wednesday morning. A public memorial service for family and friends will be held from Trinity United Church, Elmira, on Wednesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. J. D. Kellough officiating.

BROX, Donald E. Was called home to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at the age of 86 years. Don Brox, of Elmira, was the beloved husband of Dorie (Dieke) Brox. Dear father of Debbie (John) Ferguson of Kingsville, Bill (Kathy) of Floradale, and Karen (Darrell) Martin of Elmira. Loved grandfather of Julie (Matt), Becky; Jeremy (Nathalie), Katie; Meghan (Ryan), Brandon (Emily), Dustin; and 8 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents William and Edith (Mackie) Brox, and his brother Howard (Kaye Bolender). Don was a longtime Elmira businessman. He operated Brox's Florist and Gift Shop, created Brox's Olde Town Village, and developed At the Crossroads Family Restaurant. He was also active in municipal politics as a Town Councillor and as a Regional Councillor. Don was a man of deep faith and had a passion for flowers, good food and travel. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Woodside Bible Fellowship, 200 Barnswallow Dr., Elmira. A private family interment will take place at Elmira Union Cemetery on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 followed by public visitation at Woodside Bible Fellowship from 10 a.m. until the memorial service time of 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the church hall. A special thanks to the staff at Barnswallow Place for their compassionate care and support. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Woodside Bible Fellowship Benevolence Fund.

BROX, Rev. Dr. Howard Lewis At The Brant Centre, Burlington on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, Rev. Dr. Howard Brox of Burlington, in his 90th year. Beloved husband for over 64 years of Kathleen (nee Bolender) Brox. Much loved father of Dr. Timothy Brox (Wendy) of Fresno, California, Virginia Rogan (Bob) of London and Patricia Brox (Dan Dragic) of Burlington. Cherished grandfather of Victoria (Helio), Sarah (Brad), Timothy Jr. (Bridgette), Christopher, Amanda (Cameron), Jonathan, Ethan and great-grand-father of Rosa, Nicholas and Benjamin. Dear brother of Donald Brox (Dorie) of Elmira. Howard served as a navigator overseas in the R.C.A.F. before becoming ordained in a career that spanned over 60 years. Rev. Dr. Brox began his ministry with the Evangelical United Brethren Church, then the United Church of Canada. He served the communities of Sebringville, Pembroke, Waterloo, and Hamilton. During that time, he was instrumental in the union of the two denominations. For over a decade, Dr. Brox served as the Secretary of the Division of Mission in Canada during which he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Toronto. He later retired from the Halton Presbytery.
