    BURKHART, Mrs. Mary Ann -- Of Guernsey, Sask., in her 82nd year.Born at West Montrose, Ont., daughter of Joshua and Lydia Jane (Clemens) Snider. She lived in Guernsey since 1920. Predeceased by her husband, Clarence L. Burkhart; son Stanley Austin, one sister and six brothers. Survived by seven daughters, Fern (Mrs. Stanley D. Shantz) of Baden, Ont.,Greta (Nrs. Ralph Hawes) and Beatrice (Mrs. Walter Bowman), both of Guernsey, Florence (Mrs. John Faccjina) and Merle, both of Washington D.C., Mary (Mrs.Robert Knutson), of Norquay, Sask., Berna (Mrs. Hubert Lokin) of Edmonton, Alta, two sons, Kenneth of Saskatoon, Sask., Ray of Oakville; four sisters, Mrs. Lydiann Gingrich of Lanigan, Sask., Mrs Elizabeth Bowman of Kitchener, Mrs.Fred M. (Minerva) Snyder, of Waterloo. Mrs. William (Angie) Sommers of Elmira; 28 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was a member of the Sharon Mennonite Church at Guernsey, from which services are to be held Monday, March 14, 1977, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

    SHANTZ, Wilma Fern, daughter of Clarence and Mary Ann (Snider) Burkhart, was born at Guernsey, Sask., Jan. 28, 1921; died at the K-W Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., Jan. 29, 1979; aged 58 y. On Apr. 22, 1945, she was married to Stanley Shantz, who survives. Also surviving are 3 sons (Calvin L., Nelson C., and Melvin S.), one daughter (Elinor Joanne - Mrs. Don Gingerich), 2 grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters (Greta, Florence, Kenneth, Merle, Mary, Ray, Berna, and Beatrice). Funeral services were held at Steinman Mennonite Church on Feb. 1, in charge of Vernon Zehr; interment in the Wilmot Mennonite Cemetery.
