Martin.- Urias R., son of Jonathan and Emma (Ruby), was born in Woolwich Twp., Ont., Sept. 6, 1902; died at Kitchener-Waterloo (Ont.) Hospital, Oct. 10, 1989; aged 87. On July 27, 1927, he was married to Pearl Hallman, who survives. Also surviving are one son (Robert) and 3 daughters (Shirley, Reta, and Bette). He was a member of Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held at Ratz-Bechtel Chapel, Kitchener, Ont., on Oct. 12, in charge of Mary Mae Schwartzentruber; interment in Woodland Cemetery.

MARTIN, Robert Ernest - Passed away, peacefully, at St. Mary's Hospital, on October 31, 2008 in the company of his wife, Dorothy Martin (nee Brodhaecker) and his immediate family. He was in his 81st year. He was predeceased by his first wife of 47 years, Jean Martin (nee Skerritt) and by his parents, Urias and Pearl Martin. Beloved father of Douglas and his wife, Bette-Jean of Kitchener and daughter, Debra Maidment and her husband, Danny of Waterloo. Dearly loved grandfather of Sarah and Jonathan Martin and Elyse Maidment. Brother of Shirley Hawthorne and her husband Frank, Dorothy Walker and her husband Don, Bette Bailey and her husband Tom. Dearly loved step-father of Barry and Lisa Martin, Barbara and Paul Lawrence, Brad and Val Martin, Betty Ann and Dennis Wagler and grandchildren, Jill and Josh Martin; Lynda and Megan Lawrence; Ben, Kelly and Jacob Martin and Zachary and Tyrone Wagler. Bob will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a reserved man who, by contrast, could quickly become the life of a gathering. Many of his favourite times were at the cottage in Port Elgin. Visitation will be held at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener on Monday (today) from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Grace United Church, 3258 Roseville Rd., Roseville, on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 1: 30 p.m. followed by interment at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener. Donations, in lieu of flowers, would be gratefully accepted by Grace United Church, Roseville or the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre and may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at 519-743-8900.
