    Jenkins, Chris

    Passed away on Monday, Nov. 28, 1994, at home with his family, at age 49 years, after a brave battle with melanoma.

    Christopher Barry Jenkins was born June 24, 1945 in Ottawa, the son of the late W. Stuart Jenkins and Vera (Nye). He lived in Kitchener all his life with the exception of a brief time in Calgary.

    Survived by his wife and best friend of 22 years, Cathy, and his much loved son, Stephen, at home. Also survived by father-in-law Charles Treitz of Listowel: sisters-in-law Donna (Mrs. Mike Phillips) and Mary (Mrs. Gerry Whyte) of Kitchener, and Carol (Mrs. Rob Phillips) of Waterloo; nieces Laurie Phillips, Kristen and Jennifer Whyte and nephew Scott Phillips. Lovingly supported throughout his illness by best friends Bob Riehl, Peter Scott, Ray Whittemore and Boyd Smith.

    Chris loved friends and family and touched the lives of many with his wit and sense of humour. An avid sports fan, Chris' greatest joy came from golfing and watching his son's baseball and hockey games. Since 1982, Chris put his heart and soul into his store, Nursery Rhymes, where he earned the respect and friendship of his employees, his suppliers and his many loyal customers.

    Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W.,Kitchener, on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.Funeral service on Friday in the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel at 1 p.m. with Rev.Harry Herlihey officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers, Chris, Cathy and Steve would appreciate your donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
