    As a young child Casper went with his parents to Ontario, Canada. In 1859 he married Wilhelmina Mittleburg Richter. In 1862 they settled at Northfield, Minn., until they moved to their farm near Brinsmade ND, about 1903.

    He was a man of strong character, honored and respected by all who knew him. In early years he was Roman Catholic and later was a devout member of the Moravian Episcopal church. He was 71 years 4 months 3 days.
