    SHANTZ, Eral (Cressman) Brubacher With family by her side, Eral Shantz of Fairview Mennonite Home in Cambridge passed from death into the loving arms of her heavenly Father on Monday, January 11, 2016 at the age of 92 years. Eral was devoted to family, church and community. Her gardening, flower arranging and cooking skills were exceptional during the years she raised her family on the farm on the Heidelberg Road, and later at her home in St. Jacobs. She ministered God's love and faithfulness to all she met, including those she encountered during her time at Fairview. Much loved wife of the late Harold Brubacher (1983), then, of the late Stanley Shantz (2009). Loving mother to five children: Elizabeth and Claude Setzkorn of Franklin, PA, Margaret and Dan Griffin of Hamilton, Paul and Marilyn Brubacher of Elmira; predeceased by James Richard and Charlotte Rose who both died shortly after childbirth. Loving stepmother and grandmother to Stan's family: Jeanne Leis (Ralph 1998), Lois and Tom Broda, Ross and Jean Shantz, Larry and Cindy Shantz, their children and grandchildren. Family was so important to mom, she would have wanted to acknowledge each by name. Loving grandmother to Rebecca and Dave King and daughter Angela of Lancaster, PA; Charlotte and Travis McGinnis and children Kayden, Alayna and Brenna of Westminster, CO; Matthew Setzkorn of Guelph; and Andrew Setzkorn of Eugene, OR; Sonya and Dylan Fry of Victoria, BC; Loni and Ben Krul and son Brayden of Mansfield, ON; Bronwyn and Austin Garrick of Los Angeles, CA; Jonathan Brubacher of Waterloo, and Danielle Brubacher of Sudbury. Survived by her sister Florence and Roy Kreider of Broadway, VA and sisters-in-law Shirley Mader of Cambridge and Alberta Cressman of Kelowna, BC. Predeceased by siblings Verda (Gord) Lichty, Willard (Isabel) Cressman, Leonard Cressman, Donald Cressman and Mary in infancy. Friends and relatives are invited to share memories with the family at Fairview Mennonite Home in Cambridge, on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and at Dreisinger Funeral Home on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Following a family committal service, a celebration of Eral's life and Christian faith will take place on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 3: 30 p.m. at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church with Pastor Mark Diller Harder and Pastor Jonathan Brubacher officiating. Reception in the church hall will follow the service. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be given to MCC Ontario or the Fairview Mennonite Home Auxiliary. The family expresses sincere appreciation to the staff at Fairview for the kind and compassionate care of their mother for the past 3 years, after she moved from her Fairview apartment to long term care.     Brubacher, James Richard, son of Harold and Eral Brubacher, was born Jan. 23, 1957, at Kitchener, Ont.; died Feb. 3, 1957; aged 11 days. Surviving are the parents, 2 sisters (Elizabeth Ann and Margaret), one brother (Paul), grandparents (Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Cressman, Kitchener, and Mrs. Elizabeth Brubacher, Waterloo). Funeral services were held from the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel in Elmira, Ont., Feb. 5 by Roy S. Koch. Burial was made in the St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery.
