    Thaler, Harry, was born in Waterloo Twp., Ont., Nov. 9, 1898; died at the K-W Hospital on Dec. 15, 1981; aged 83 y. He was married to Martha Rudy, who preceded him in death. He was later married to Fannie Bender, who survives. Also surviving are one foster-daughter (Evon-Mrs. Larry Walker), 3 grandchildren, 2 brothers (James and Hubert), and 3 sisters (Mrs. Marie Frey, Mrs. Ella Cole, and Mrs. Alice Gingerich). He was preceded in death by one son (Arthur), 3 brothers, one sister, 3 half brothers, and 3 half sisters. He was a member of First Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Dec. 18, in charge of Glenn Brubacher; interment in First Mennonite Church Cemetery

    \emdash the K-W Hospital, Harry Wilfred Thaler, aged 83 years, of 656 Weber St. E., Kitchener.
    Survived by his wife, the former Fannie Bender; his foster-daughter, Evon (Mrs. Larry Walker) of Hillsdale, Ont.; his three grandchildren; his brothers, James of Kitchener and Hubert of Detroit; his sisters, Mrs. Marie Frey of Didsbury, Alta., Mrs. Ella Cole of St. Jacobs and Mrs. Alice Gingerich of Kitchener. Predeceased by his first wife, the former Martha Rudy; his son, Arthur; three brothers; one sister; three half brothers and three half sisters.
    He was a member of First Mennonite Church, farmed on the Thaler homestead in the east end of Kitchener, then had been employed at the Waterloo County Co-Op Mill in Bridgeport and in recent years served as a school crossing guard with the City of Kitchener.
    Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 3 p.m. on Thursday, until 11 a.m. on Friday, then at First Mennonite Church, 800 King St. E., Kitchener, for the funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment in the adjoining cemetery, Rev. Glenn Brubacher will conduct the service.
    Expressions of sympathy may be shown by donations to the Mennonite Central Committee or Mennonite Mission Board of Ontario.

    Comments: The first 1-2 lines of the obituary was cutoff. Obituary started with the information that was displayed. The obituary appeared in the Aug. 9th paper, however there was no year identified.

    THALER, Arthur 1976
    THALER, Arthur\emdash at Port Moody, B.C., as a result of drowning, on Tuesday, July 27, 1976, while vacationing, Arthur Thaler, a resident of Vancouver and formerly of the K-W area, aged 54 years.
    Mr. Thaler was a seaman aboard the SS Alaska, formerly a member of First Mennonite Church.
    He is survived by his father and stepmother, Harry and Fanny Thaler and a foster sister, Evon (Mrs. Larry Walker) of Toronto. He was predeceased by his mother, the former Martha Rudy, in 1958.
    The funeral service will be held at First Mennonite Church on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. with lay minister Earl Meyers officiating. Following the service, interment of the cremated remains will take place in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery.
    Donations to the Mennonite Central Committee may be made as expressions of sympathy, and may be made at the church or the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home.

    Mr. Thaler, a seaman, was apparently on holiday when his body was found. He left the Twin City area more than 20 years ago and worked on ships around the world, making his home on the West Coast in recent years.
    He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thaler, 656 Weber St. E, Kitchener. He will be cremated and a memorial service held in Kitchener later this week.
