    Henry Heimbecher

General regret was expressed throughout Elmira on Wednesday morning when it became known that Mr. Henry Heimbecher, manager of the Elmira factory of Snyder's Limited had passed away.

Mr. Heimbecher had for a number of years been suffering more or less with stomach trouble but was not too ill to attend to business and up to Sunday morning last, on which day he was obliged to enter the K-W hospital, was he unable to fulfill his duties as manager of the woodworking factory here.

On an examination after entering the hospital, it was found necessary to have a surgical operation at once. While it was hoped for several days that he would survive, everything possible being done to save his life, even a blood transfusion being resorted to, but pneumonia had set in and on Wednesday morning Mr. Heimbecher peacefully passed away.

He was in his fifty-fourth year and was the son of Mr. Casper Heimbecher and the late Mrs. Heimbecher of Elmira. He was born here and after completing his education he entered the sash, door and furniture factory of which his father was then part owner. Later, Mr. Heimbecher Sr. became sole owner and when he disposed of the factory about ten years ago to Snyder's limited of Waterloo, Mr. Heimbecher stayed with the company in the capacity of manager of the Elmira plant and which position he retained up to the time of his death.

Mr. Heimbecher was a faithfull employee and held the respect and confidence not only of the members of the company for whom he labored but also that of all the factory employees who worked under him.

He always gave the best possible service, doing good work and consequently was held to the highest esteem.

In his younger days Mr. Heimbecher excelled in athletics, being a member of the baseball team and for a time a member of the town band. Some twenty-five years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Edith Weichel, who with his aged father (the latter being almost eighty years of age), are left to mourn the loss of a loving husband and a dutiful son. There are no children. He was an only child and his mother passed away some three years ago.

Mr. Heimbecher was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the funeral takes place from his late home on Dunke Street, Elmira on Saturday afternoon at two o' clock to the church for service, after which interment will take place in the Elmira Cemetery. His pastor, Rev. F. Malinsky will conduct the services. The sincere sympathy of the community is extended to Mrs. Heimbecher, who is the daughter of the late Mr. Weichel and Mrs. Weichel, Elmira and to Mr. Casper Heimbecher in their sorrow.

Henry married Ida Magdalena "Edith" Weichel 9 Oct 1906, Elmira, Woolwich Twp., Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. Ida (daughter of Reeve Michael Weichel and Catherine Schmidt) was born 17 Aug 1881, Elmira, Woolwich Twp., Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada; died 16 Jul 1965, Kitchener, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada; was buried , Elmira Union Cemetery, Elmira, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada.
