Passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on July 12, 2012 at the age of 66. Cherished husband of Eva (nee Ogram) for 44 years. Loving father of Shelley (Darin Portnoff) of Richmond Hill, Darryl (Cindy Marcella) of Kitchener, and Duane of Waterloo. Dear grandpa of Jacqueline and Ashton Portnoff, Jesse Wideman, and Rachelle and Holly Marcella. Lorne will be missed by his brothers and sisters; Fern Brubacher, Earl (Erma), Marie (Clarence) Weber, Ella (Howard) Brubacher, Glenn (Lorene), Vera (Allen) Gingrich, and David. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Menno and Salema (nee Gingrich) and his brother-in-law Orvie Brubacher. Friends are invited to share their memories of Lorne with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, July 15 from 2-4 p.m. and on Monday, July 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Calvary United Church, 48 Hawkesville Rd., St. Jacobs, on Tuesday, July 17 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Marianne Hoffer officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Calvary United Church Cemetery. Reception to follow in the church hall.
