SMITH, Oscar A. - At the K-W Hospital, on Friday, Feb. 15, 1974, after a brief illness, Oscar A. Smith, of 86 Euclid Ave., Waterloo, age 80 years, born in Elmira, a son of the late John Schmidt and the former Gertrude Huehn, a resident of the Twin City area all his life, a member of Emmanuel United Church, Waterloo, and formerly employed at the H. Krug Furniture Co., Ltd., for many years, husband of Irene Geiger who predeceased him in May, 1967; father of Sandra (Mrs. Ronald Brunk) and Grant D. Smith, both of Kitchener, Ross of Don Mills and Ken of Windsor; brother of Clara (Mrs. Val Berdux) and Clayton Schmidt, both of Kitchener; 10 grandchildren also survive; predeceased by a sister Mrs. Edith Reist and a brother in infancy. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. West, Kitchener. Funeral and committal service in the chapel Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. W. H. H. Stewart officiating. Interment Mount Hope cemetery, Waterloo.
