    ELMIRA, May 11.-Mrs. Louis Beisel, nee Adeline Eix, age 87, died early this morning at her home in Elmira.

    She had been in failing health for several years. She was born near Hawkesville on the Eix homestead where she lived until her marriage to Louis Beisel in 1874. Following her marriage, she resided in Woolwich Township and later on the Beisel farm one mile west of Elmira until 16 years ago, when the family moved to Elmira. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church.

    Her husband predeceased her four years ago. Surviving are four sons, William, Addison, Norman and Theodore of Elmira, two daughters, Mrs. Jacob Ritter (Catherine) of near Conestogo and Mrs. Arthur Klinck, (Parseda?) of Elmira, two brothers, Henry Eix of Elmira, and Charles Eix of Detroit, and two sisters, Mrs. Amos Eby and Mrs. John Ritter of Elmira. There are also 18? grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren surviving.

    The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock from her late residence, Church Street West, with memorial service at St. James Lutheran Church. The burial will take place in the Elmira Cemetery. Rev. L. H. Kalbfleisch will officiate. The body is resting at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel until Friday morning.

    ELMIRA, June 7 - William E. Beisel, 74, of 29 Arthur St., North, Elmira, died yesterday at the K-W Hospital following a short illness.

    Born June 21, 1876, near Elmira, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Beisel. He had been a retired farmer since 1945. He was a member of St. James's Lutheran Church, Elmira.

    Surviving, besides his wife, the former Rosa Holzworth, are one daughter, Mrs. Irvin (Rosaleen) Schneider; two sons, Kleon and Wilbert, both RR 4, Elmira; three brothers, Addison, Norman and Theodore, all of Elmira, and one sister, Mrs. Arthur Klinck, Elmira. One sister, Mrs. Jacob Ritter, predeceased him. Eleven grandchildren also survive.

    The funeral will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, at St. James's Lutheran Church with Rev. L. H. Kalbfleisch officiating. Interment will be made in the Elmira Cemetery. Friends are requested to pay their respects prior to the services.

    Mr. Beisel died at K-W Hospital after a brief illness. He was 89.

    A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Beisel, he was born March 6, 1878, in Elmira, where he lived all his life.

    Surviving are his wife; two sons, Ralph of Calgary and Carl of Woodstock; one daughter, Mrs. Clayton (Adeline) Gildner of Kitchener; one brother, Norman of Elmira; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter, two brothers and two sisters.

    Husband of the late Luella Holzworth; dear father of Kenneth of Simcoe. Seven grandchildren also survive. He was predeceased by his sons, Lloyd and Vernon, three brothers and two sisters.

    Friends may call at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, after 7 pm today. Funeral service in the chapel on Saturday, February 24, at 2 pm. Interment in the Elmira Cemetery.

    ELMIRA - Theodore E. Beisel, 78, of 82 Arthur St., died Monday at K-W Hospital after a short illness.

    Mr. Beisel, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Beisel, was born near Elmira. He farmed on the home farm until retiring to Elmira in 1947. He was a member of Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church here. In 1911 he married Sarah Bolender, who survives.

    Also surviving are one son, Stanley of Stratford; one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Beatrice) Busch of Kitchener; two brothers, Addison and Norman, both of Elmira; and three grandchildren. Two sisters predeceased him.

    The body is at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor. Service will be in the funeral chapel Thursday at 3 pm. Interment will be in Elmira Cemetery. Rev. J. W. Siebert will officiate.

    Mrs. Arthur Klinck, 74, of Elmira, died Wednesday, April 25 at K-W Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born in Woolwich Township, July 12, 1887. The former Perceda Adeline Beisel she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Beisel. She was a member of St. James' Lutheran Church, Elmira, and was a district resident all her life.
    She is survived by her husband whom she married Sept. 8, 1926 in Kitchener; one son Leonard of Toronto; one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Eileen) Bruder of Kitchener; three brothers, Addison Beisel, Norman Beisel and Theodore Beisel, all of Elmira, and six grandchildren. One brother, William and one sister, Catherine, predeceased her.
    The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel, Elmira, when removal was made to St. James' Church, Elmira, for the funeral. Rev. Harry Baetz officiated. Burial was in Elmira Cemetery.

    Lloyd G. Beisel, 42, Bridgeport died Sunday at Victoria Hospital, London, Ont., of injuries received when he fell from a scaffold last Thursday in Waterloo.

    Mr. Beisel was working on the Snyders' Ltd., new factory and was handling a plank to a fellow workman in the ground when he fell, breaking his neck and two wrists.

    He had been an employee of Lavern Asmussen Ltd., contractor, for more than a year.

    Born Nov. 23, 1917, in Elmira, he was a son of Norman Beisel and the late Luella Holzworth.

    He married the former Rita Thomas Aug. 27, 1950, in Kitchener and was a former member of St. James' Lutheran Church, Elmira.

    Surviving are five sons, Donald, Paul, David, Douglas and Michael and two daughters, Elizabeth and Carol at home and a brother, Kenneth of Waterford.

    He was also predeceased by a brother Vernon.

    The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, where Rev. H. W. Baetz conducted the funeral Tuesday. Burial was in Elmira Cemetery.

    BEISEL, Stanley - Stanley Royal Beisel, age 82, passed away peacefully at Hillside Manor, RR 5 Stratford on Monday, December 26, 2005.

    Stan was born on the Beisel farm, Woolwich Twp. Near Elmira, son of the late Theodore Beisel and the former Sarah Ann Bolender. In 1951 Stan married the former Mildred Mohr and she predeceased him in 1985 as did his sister, Beatrice in 1985 and an infant daughter in 1954. Stan is survived by one son, John Beisel and his wife Carolyn of Owen Sound and three grandchildren, Peter, David and Kathryn. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Mona (Mohr) Robinson and two nieces, Joy and Gloria of Toronto.

    In 1987 Stan married Ruth (Moore) Diegel who survives him along with Ruth's mother Florence Moore and Ruth's children Murray, Faye, Nancy Janet and Linda. Stan is also remembered by Ruth's grandchildren and a multitude of friends.

    Stan attended public school at SS #4 Woolwich and Elmira High School. In 1946 he graduated from the Stratford Normal School. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree by extra-mural study from the University of Western Ontario, London and a Master of Education from University of Toronto. Following his graduation from Teacher's College he taught at Floradale, St. Jacobs and Kitchener schools. He was a Master at Stratford Teachers College from 1960 to 1973 and the Ontario Teacher Education College, Toronto from 1974 to 1980 specializing in Methods of Teaching. He retired in 1980.

    In his early years Stan was an active member of the Evangelical and later Evangelical United Brethren Churches. He was a Sunday school superintendent and teacher. He served as choir leader and Mildred as organist at Zion Church, Elmira. He was instrumental in the development of two camp sites at Golden Lake and Silver Lake. In Stratford Stan was active in both Kiwanis Clubs and had attended Elgin Missionary Church and Central United Church. Stan had grown up in Mennonite country and possessed extensive knowledge of their history and customs. His interest in rural life conservation was evident in his continuing love for his small rural property in the hills of North Easthope Township. Stan also loved his 1930 Model "A" Ford. Stan loved to sing and was for a time a member of the Schneider Male Chorus, Kitchener, the Festival City Barber Shoppers, the St. Andrew's Male Chorus and the Kiwanis Golden Oldies.

    Family will receive friends at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford n Thursday, December 29, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 am Rev. Ken Wideman and Rev. Cheryl Ann Stadelbauer-Sampa will officiate. Interment in Elmira Union Cemetery.

    ST. JACOBS Walter Hachborn, co-founder of Home Hardware Stores Ltd., is being inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame.

    Hachborn, who played a leading role in launching the St. Jacobs-based retailer 50 years ago, will be inducted into the hall at a ceremony in Toronto next May.

    "I cannot imagine a greater honour than to be selected for entry into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame," the 93-year-old said Thursday in a quote provided by Home Hardware. "I am truly humbled and enormously grateful to have my name listed among Canada's most distinguished business leaders.

    Hachborn's career in the hardware industry spans more than 75 years.

    He started working as a stock boy at Hollinger Hardware in St. Jacobs in 1938. He bought the business with partners Henry Sittler and Arthur Zillax in 1950....

    HACHBORN, Walter Jacob July 24, 1921-December 17, 2016 Walter Hachborn of St. Jacobs, Ontario passed away peacefully on December 17, 2016 at the age of 95 years. Walter was born in Conestogo. He married Jean Marie Brown on September 20, 1947. She predeceased him on December 26, 2014. Devoted father to Susan Heard (David), Elizabeth Hachborn (David Courtnage) and Bill Hackborn (Aruna Srivastava). Loving grandfather of Brandon Huehn (Kelee Wright), Meghan Huehn, Daniel Hackborn (Samantha Pearson), Philip Hackborn, and Beyata Hackborn, great-grandfather of Aria Huehn, and brother of Lorraine Mahn. Lovingly remembered by Jean's family - sisters, Betty Gingrich, Carol Stortz and Sandra Rohr (Clinton), brothers, Jack Brown (Helen), and Bill Brown (Joyce), and sister-in-law, Mary Brown - and by his many nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents William and Florence (Ritter) Hachborn, father-in-law and mother-in-law William and Gladys (Hahn) Brown, brothers-in-law Jack Mahn, Clifford Brown (in infancy), Howard Brown, Cyril Stortz, Gordon Gingrich, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ruth (Brown) and Wolf Fink. Walter was the co-founder and President Emeritus of Home Hardware Stores Limited. His combination of business acumen, work ethic, ingenuity and kindness, have inspired thousands over the course of his distinguished career and has helped establish Home Hardware as one of Canada's most admired corporations: he will be greatly missed by the Home Hardware family. He was well-known locally, nationally and internationally as an entrepreneur and a philanthropist. He was a long-time, active member of St. James Lutheran Church, St. Jacobs, serving the local and wider church in many capacities including involvement on the Board of Governors of Wilfrid Laurier University (formerly Waterloo Lutheran University). He assisted with a Habitat for Humanity build project with former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and volunteered nationally and internationally with CESO (Canadian Executive Services Organization). He received many recognitions for personal and professional achievements: the Order of Canada, the Queen's Silver, Golden and Diamond Jubilee Medals, the Retail Council of Canada's Lifetime Achievement Award, Canadian Hardware Retailer of the Century, Honorary Doctor of Laws from Wilfrid Laurier University and his recent induction into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame. Two days of visitation will occur: Tuesday, December 20 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Dreisinger Funeral Home , 62 Arthur Street South, Elmira; and Wednesday December 21 from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Home Hardware Stores Limited (Henry Sittler Building), 34 Henry Street West, St. Jacobs. The funeral service will be held at two locations: St. James Lutheran Church, St. Jacobs, and livestreamed to the Henry Sittler Building at Home Hardware, on Thursday, December 22 at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow at Home Hardware.
