    Mrs. G. William Schmitt, 71, of 65 Cameron St. North, Kitchener died Wednesday, January 3, at her home after a lengthy illness. Born Edna Catherine Lein in Elmira, Oct. 26, 1890, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John B. Lein. She was a Kitchener resident for the past 47 years and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Her husband, to whom she was married in Elmira June 23, 1914, survives. Surviving also are three sons, Carl J., Arthur G. and Roy W., all of Kitchener; one daughter, Mrs. Stanley (Esther) Fischer, of Kitchener; one sister, Mrs. E. J. (Lillian) Shoemaker of Kitchener and 10 grandchildren. Funeral was conducted Friday at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home by Rev. Arthur Eissfeldt. Burial was in Union Cemetery, Elmira.

    ROY W. SCHMITT 1922 - 2006 Passed away peacefully, after a brief battle with cancer, on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, age 83 years. Roy was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, serving on Church Council for many years; member of the K-W Y's Men's Club, K-W YMCA Camping Committee Chairman, St. Paul's Men's Carpet Bowling Club and the Boys of the 30's. Beloved husband of Marg Schmitt (nee Voege). Dear father of Alan and his wife Carol of London, Peter and his wife Jane of Waterdown, N.Y., John and his wife Laura of Sudbury, Phil Schmitt and his wife Sheena Macdonald of Toronto. Will be sadly missed by grandchildren, Tim, Jill, Heather, Stuart and Michael. Also survived by a sister, Esther Fischer of Kitchener and a brother, Arthur Schmitt of Kitchener. Predeceased by a brother, Carl; sister-in-law, Marie and brother-in-law, Stanley. Roy's family received friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 136 Margaret Ave., Kitchener on Saturday, April 29, 2006 (today) at 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul Williams officiating. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo. In lieu of flowers, donations to Grace Lutheran Church Roof Fund or a charity of one's choice would be appreciated and can be arranged through the funeral home.
