    The funeral of the late Levi Hageywas held on Thursday afternoon from his late residence, Kress Hill. Services were conducted at the house
    and Interment took place at Preston, cemetery. The funeral was largelyattended.

    WELL KNOWN DENTIST DIES SUDDENLY

    Dr. Hagey Seized With Heart Attack at Kitchener— Prominent Preston Citizen.

    One of Preston's most popular and highly regarded citizens, in the person of Dr. Hagey, dentist, passed away with startling suddenness on Wednesday, Feb. 22nd, while motoring in Kitchener. He had driven to Kitchener with his brother-in-law, Mr. W. B. Ashley, and their wives, and when nearing the comfort station adjoining the city hall he complained of illness and stopped the car. As Mr. Ashley was assisting him into the comfort station he collapsed, passing away in a few minutes, death being due to heart failure. Although he had been ill from influenza a short time ago he had apparently fully recovered and appeared to be in his normal health. He was 32 years of age. The late Dr. Hagey was educated at the public school and the Galt Collegiate, subsequently recieving his degree of D. D. S. at the Royal College of Dental Surgeons, Toronto, taking up the practice of his profession in Preston. He was an active and valued member of various organizations, being a prominent member of the Preston Athletic Association and the River View Golf and Country Club, and of the Preston Rotary Club and Preston Club. He was also a leading member of the Preston Lodge A. F. and A. M., this year officiating as worshipful master of the lodge. He was a past president of the Waterloo County Dental Association and was a dental surgeon at the Preston Springs Sanitorium. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. The deceased who was the only son of the late Milton Hagey of Preston, took up the practice of his profession after his return following service with the Canadian Army Dental Corps during the war. He was married to Carrie May Fink eight years ago, who survives together with one son, three years of age, and his mother, May Hagey. The funeral, which was very largely attended, was held on Saturday afternoon under Masonic auspices, Rev. G. S. Lloyd of Hespeler officiating. Hundreds of citizens and friends paid a final tribute of respect. C. 0. Hemphill of Waterloo, M. Schiedel of Kitchener and R. S. Hamilton of Galt, all P.D.D.G.M.'s of the Masonic Order, were present at the funeral.

    Peacefully, on Friday, May 25, 1990, at K-W Hospital, Isabel Woolner, of Forsyth Drive, Waterloo, in her 91st year. Dear sister of Elma Scully of Waterloo; loving aunt of Drs. Patricia and her husband Maxwell Irwin of Cornwall. Also survived by her great-nieces and great-nephews, Debra Foster, Ted, Dr. Paul and Heather Irwin and their children.     Edward Preston Graham was the son of William Graham and Cornelia Hagey, moved to Preston about 1936 became a businessman and involved himself in local politics. he operated the Graham Bros. Service Station from 1936-1946 then Graham Motors from about 1946-1956. He acted as president of Graham Petroleum from 1956 to 1971. He with partner H. A. Volker purchased the Kress Hotel in a tax sale it had ceased to operate in 1942, buying out Volker's share he in 1945 extensively renovated and redecorated the hotel. In 1945 it reopened the two side were set to accommodate 150 employees of the Merchant's Rubber Company of Kitchener. He sold in 1968 to William Bray. He was on Preston town council and a life member of the Preston Parks Board. He was a life member of the Waterloo Historical Society and was known for his Hackney show ponies.

    Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Monday, May 29, 2023 at The Village of Winston Park in Kitchener at the age of 95.

    Jean was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Henry (Hank), 1991, her mother, Alice (Roedding) Sass, 1967, her father, Oscar Sass, 1983, and her brother, William (Bill) Sass, 1979.

    Jean will be dearly missed by her sons, Gregory (Patricia) and Jeffrey (Karen) and daughter, Patricia Filsinger (Rick). Jean's six grandchildren, Drew (Alison), Erin (Adam), Ryan (Ligon), Amy (Phil), Jason (Stephanie) and Josh (Glendys). Jean's seven great grandchildren, Charlotte, Callen, Emmett, Sally, Jane, Dominic and Gene.

    Jean enjoyed her Waterloo and Florida homes with Hank. She loved visiting with friends and family around the kitchen table. If it was after four o'clock there may have been a rum and coke involved. There was always a treat for any dog that walked passed her home. The blue jays and squirrels will truly miss the peanuts she left out on a cold winter day.

    Jean's funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023 in the chapel of the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Reception to follow. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Those unable to attend may join the service via live stream at https://www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming

    As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Society Waterloo Wellington would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
