At St. Mary's Hospital, Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1974, following a brief illness, Wilbur Brubacher, aged 79, of 51 Church St., Kitchener; member of Calvary United Church and the Senior Citizens Glee club. Beloved husband of Emma Haufschild; dear father of Lorne, Wayne and Evelyn (Mrs. Edward Mansz), all of Kitchener, Howard, Victoria, B.C., Russel of Campbellville; brother of Sheldon of Toronto; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; predeceased by one daughter Ethel, three brothers, Morgan, Lyman and Homer. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 7 p.m. today (Tuesday). Funeral service in the chapel Thursday at 2 p.m., Rev. Bruce Seebach officiating. Interment Woodland cemetery.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorne Brubacher on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, in his 95th year. Lorne enjoyed a full and active life. He had a passion for gardening, fishing and especially barbershop singing. He recently retired as a volunteer at Sunnyside Home, after 20 years, and was an active member of Christ the King United Church. His sharp wit and humour are legendary. Feisty to the end, he lived at home until his very last days. Predeceased by his loving wife Vivyan, sister Evelyn and brother Howard. Dear father to Gale (Dave), Doug (Sue), Carol Stephenson (Al), Gary (Evelyn) and Tim (Heidi). Cherished grandpa to Beth Wilson (Jamie), Jackie Leung (Jim), Ewan Cameron (Alison), James Cameron (Jessica), Tara Wasilka (Anton), Ryan (Lauren), Nathan, Ali Ford (Brian), Phoebe Olszewski (Pat) and Max Naiman (Sharene). Proud great 'Grandpa B' to Nick, Ella, Ian, Vivienne, Kyra, Scarlett, Georgia, Olivia, Quinn and Ruby. Also proud 'Grandpa B' to step great grandchildren Cameron, Duncan and Jenna. Special companion to our loving and caring friend Cindy Mounteer. He will be sadly missed by his brothers Russell and Wayne (Sylvia), and many nieces and nephews. Our heartfelt thanks to the excellent doctors, nurses and caregivers at all the hospitals, and in his home.

MANSZ, Evelyn Jean (nee Brubacher) Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, in the presence of her family, on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Edward of 65 years, who are together again. Loving mother of Sharon Szmkowski (Gary) and Bruce (Wendy). Much loved Grandma to Wayne Szymkowski (Miya), Melissa Szymkowski (Shawn Brent), Jennifer Mansz, James Mansz (Kerrianne), and Helen Alvero. Great-Grandma to Lilianna and Eva. Dear sister of Lorne Brubacher, Russel Brubacher and Wayne Brubacher (Sylvia). Predeceased by her brother Howard. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends. She dedicated most of her life to volunteering and was always involved with her community. In her spare time she tended to her roses with her dear husband, Edward. Evelyn's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 and from 10 a.m.- 10:45 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church, 247 Westmount Road E. Millsville, Pictou Co., passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2006, in Aberdeen Regional Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Kitchener, Ont., he was a son of the late Wilbur and Emma (Haufshield) Brubacher. He was a resident of Millsville for the past 30 years. During his life he worked mostly as a salesman but also a fireman with the Kitchener Fire Department. His passions were reading, gardening, cooking, fishing and travel. He traveled throughout ca, the us, Mexico and S witzerland. After settling in Nova Scotia, he devoted much of his time to painting, becoming an accomplished artist. His art reflected beautiful rural Pictou County, his travels and his family. Surviving are daughters, Susan Brubacher (Peter Latulippe), Millsville; Michelle (Chris) Tupper, Coquitlam, B.C.; sons, Ward (Mae), Millsville; Warren (Janice), Squamish, B.C.; Dennis, Mexico and Vancouver, B.C.; grandchildren, Danille, Ben and Chris Brubacher, Alberta; Rob Brubacher, Vancouver, B.C.;Jason Bruba cher, Squamish, B.C.; Seth Tupper, Coquitlam, B.C.; Rebecca Acheson, Prince George, B.C.; Michelle Rendina, Switzerland; Amber Manning, Pictou County; Brooke Langdon, cambridge, Ont.; and Heather Klatt, Alberta; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Lorne ( Vivyan), Russell (Barbara), Wayne (Sylvia), all of Kitchener, Ont.; sister, Evelyn (Ed) Mansz, Kitchener, Ont. His wife, the former Theresa Jubinville; daughter, Dianne Gusset, and sister, Ethel, predeceased him. Cremation has taken place. A memorial gat hering will be announced at a later date. Donations in memory of Howard may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses or the Palliative care Society of Aberdeen Regional Hospital. The family would like to extend thanks to the VON, Dr. Farrell and the pall iative care staff for the care they extended to their father. Arrangements are under the direction of H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
