Daniel M. Brubacher, "the fifth son of John W. Brubacher, was born September 20th, 1840. He resides on his father's old farm about three miles west of St. Jacobs where he is engaged in farming. On August 12th, 1876, he was ordained to the ministry of the Mennonite body at the Conestogo Meeting House by Bishop Abraham Martin. He is a good man and a sincere worker for the Lord's cause and is highly esteemed by his congregation. He is married to Elizabeth, daughter of Louis and Barbara (Wanner) Beeshy. She was born December 24th, 1842. Their family consists of nine children".

Peter B. Brubacher, 61, passed away at his home, Three Bridges, on Monday, March 1st. Born on the family homestead where his entire life-time was spent, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Brubacher.

Surviving are his wife and one brother, Menno, also of Three Bridges.

The funeral was held Thursday at 9 a. m. from his late residence, to Conestogo and Three Bridges Mennonite Church. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

MRS. ELIZABETH MARTIN

Mrs. Elizabeth Martin, 76, died at the home of her daughter and son- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Wideman of R.R. 1, Waterloo, Monday. She was born April 12, 1877, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Brubacher.

Surviving are four sons, David and Daniel of R.R. 3, Waterloo, Amos and Ezra of R.R. 1, Waterloo; three daughters, Mrs. John (Lovina) Brubacher and Mrs. Josiah (Rebecca) Martin of R.R. 3, Wallenstein, and Mrs. Ezra (Betsy) Wideman; one sister, Mrs. Simon Martin of R.R. 4, Elmira. There are 32 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her husband, Amos A., predeceased her in 1918. A daughter also died before her.

The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, until Wed- nesday at 10:30 a.m. when removel was made to the Wideman home for service at 8:30 a.m. Friday, followed by a service at South Peel Mennon- ite Meeting House. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Beloved wife of the late Jonathan B. Martin, former St. Jacobs blacksmith, who predeceased her May 31, 1990. Loving mother of Glenn and Crystal Martin of Waterloo, Janet and David Carr of Brampton, Wayne and Mary Lee Martin of Milverton. Fondly remembered by her nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her parents, Jacob W. Stahlbaum and Catherine Miller and one brother, Lorne.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. On Wednesday at 9 a.m., transfer will be made to Calvary United Church, St. Jacobs, for funeral service at 11 a.m., with Rev. Mrs. Amanda Martin, 65, of RR 1. Waterloo. died April 29. at K-W Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Woolwich Township Nov. 8. 1895. she was a daughter of the late Reuben Martin and his wife, the former Barbara Brubacher. Her first husband, Jonas Martin. died in 1941 and her second husband. Samuel Martin, to whom she was married in 1949. died in 1954.

Survivors include two sons Ealm of RR 3, Waterloo, Enos of RR 2, Drayton; one daughter, Barbara of RR 3. Waterloo, one stepson. Elias of RR 2. West Montrose; three sisters, one brother and and six grand children. The body was at his home where the funeral was conducted Wednesday.

Enoch B. Martin, 46, died Friday morning at St. Mary's Hospital, following a short illness. He was a son of Reuben Martin, R. R. 3, Waterloo.

Mrs. Bowman, the former Hannah Martin, was born in Woolwich Township, April 13, 1907, and was a member of the Elmira Pentecostal Tabernacle. Surviving are her husband; two sons, Orville of Stratford and Leonard of Elmira; six daughters, Mrs. Amos (Selinda) Martin of Elora, Mrs. Alfred (Priscilla) Neargarth of Waterloo, Mrs. Robert (Salone) Brown of Acton, Mrs. Fred (Edna) Vandenberg of Elmira, and Carol and Grace at home; a brother, Daniel, and sister, Mrs. M. Shelhorn, both of Elmira; and 20 grandchildren. Mrs. Bowman was predeceased by two sons, a brother and two sisters. The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home in Elmira until Monday when removal was made to the Elmira Pentecostal Tabernacle for the funeral service at 2 p.m. Rev. Ralph Lyons officiated. Burial was in the Martin Mennonite cemetery. The casket was opened at the cemetery.

ST. JACOBS-Annie Brubacher, 58, of RR 1, Waterloo, died today at her home near Three Bridges. She had been ill for several months.
Miss Brubacher was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Menno B. Brubacher. She was born Aug. 14, 1903, in Woolwich Township. Miss Brubacher was a member of Heidelberg Mennonite Church.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Leah Bender of Waterloo, Lydia Ann and Elizabeth, both at home. The body will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Sunday at 10a.m. when removal will be made to the home for the funeral at 2:30 p.m. A further service will be
conducted at the Conestogo Mennonite Meeting House at Three Bridges. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Moses Roth of New Hamburg will officiate.

Also survived by 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Sister of Lovina (Mrs. Tilman Brubacher), Lydian (Mrs. Amos B. Martin), Annie (Mrs. Amos B. Martin), Melinda (Mrs. Allan H. Martin), Enos and Hannah Weber and sister-in-law of Emma (Mrs. Abram Weber). Predeceased by her parents Alvin C. and Susannah Weber, her son Edgar (1963) and a daughter and son in infancy, one daughter-in-law Luida Martin (2009), one sister in infancy and two brothers Abram and Elam. Friends called at her home, 7766 Line 86, RR 1, Wallenstein on Sunday, October 16 from 2-6pm and on Monday, October 17 from 2-6pm, where family service was held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 9: 00am then to South Peel Mennonite Meeting House for further service and burial in the adjoining cemetery. Israel Brubacher, of Mine Centre, ON, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the age of 75 years, five months and one day. He was born on May 19, 1937 in Wellesley Township, ON to John and Lovina (Martin) Brubacher. On June 16, 1959 he was united in marriage to Lovina Martin of West Montrose, ON. They enjoyed over 53 years together. In 1975 they moved with their family to the Rainy River District, ON, where they farmed near Stratton. In 1985 they moved to Mine Centre, ON, where he resided until his death. He is survived by his beloved wife Lovina, of Mine Centre, ON, and six children: Mervin and (Selina) of Barwick, ON; Marie of Barwick; Shirly of Mine Centre; Willis of Mine Centre, Clare and (Charlene) of Emo, ON, and Marilyn of Mine Centre, as well as eleven grandchildren: Marlene, Philip, Galen, Lauretta, Kathryn, Joanne, Nathan, Joseph, Vincent, Taimi, and Sean. He is survived by four brothers: Isaac and (Leona) of Linwood, ON; Henry and (Sarah) of Linwood, ON; Clarence and (Elmeda) of Wallenstein, ON; Emanuel and (Velina) of Hawkesville, ON, as well as one sister, Elizabeth, of Floradale, ON. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Lovina; one sister, Susannah, who died in her youth as a result of a traffic accident. Israel was a member of the Mine Centre Mennonite church. He enjoyed the fellowship of his church family, as well as the friendship of people in many communities he had opportunity to learn to know over the years. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Northridge Funeral Home, Emo, Ont from 2-4 p.m.; followed by visitation from 6-8 p.m. at the Pineview Mennonite Church, Barwick, Ont. The funeral service will be held at the Barwick Community Hall, Barwick, Ont, on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at 1:00 PM with interment at the Pineview Mennonite Cemetery.

In October 1966, Susannah was on a carriage with friends when they were hit by a car. She was badly hurt, and her friend from Pennsylvania died as a result.

In the spring of the following year, Susannah had recovered enough to take a trip to Pennsylvania to visit her friend's gravesite. While there, she became ill and died from the effects of the earlier accident.

Her friend from Pennsylvania came to Canada and died, and Susannah went to Pennsylvania and died.

Horse Kicks Boy in Head; Lad Dies in K-W Hospital

Kicked in the back of the head by a horse as he was returning home with his parents last evening, Amos Wideman, aged three, was fatally injured. He died in the K-W Hospital last night about eight o'clock.

The little boy was riding on the floor of the buggy when the horse reared and kicked, one of the hooves striking him on the head.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Wideman of Three Bridges,

who were riding in the buggy at the time of the accident, which happened about three quarters of a mile west of St. Jacobs.

The funeral will be held Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the Conestogo Meeting House. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery.

The body is resting at the Lippert-Gruhn Funeral Home until this evening.
