    Fred Timm, 85, Town Councilor in 1896, Dies

    Death called 85-year-old Fred Tim, 303 Park Street, today, terminating a long and useful life. He had been confined to the K-W Hospital.

    Mr. Timm served on the council in 1896, when Kitchener was the town of Berlin. He was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department for several years, and was an employee of the Dominion Tire Co. from the time of its organization here, until he was pensioned. His recent occupation was that of sexton at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, where he worshipped.

    The elderly man was a member of St. Mark's Brotherhood, and the Canadian Order of Foresters. Born in Germany Dec. 7, 1858, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Timm (nee Graf), he came to Canada at the age of two years. He was married to Henrietta Dechler on April 11, 1882. She predeceased him by seven years.

    Four sons and two daughters survive Mr. Timm. They are Edgar of Waterloo, Fred, William and Gordon of Kitchener; Mrs. Otto Weber, London, Ont., and Mrs. Fred Fischer, Kitchener. A brother, Chris Timm of Saskatoon, a sister, Mrs. Mary Yanke, of Guelph; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.

    A public funeral service will be held from the Schreiter-Sandrock funeral Home, Thursday, at three o'clock, with Rev. A.G. Jacobi officiating. Interment will be made in the Freeport Cemetery. The remains are resting at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home.

    FISCHER, Hulda Emma

    Suddenly, at St. Mary's Hospital, on Sunday, Nov. 17, 1901, Mrs. HuIda Fischer, of Wilson Avenue, Kitchener, age 93 years. Mrs. Fischer was a member of the Kingsdale congregation of the New Apostolic Church. Loving mother of Alan and his wife Renate of Kitchener; mother-in-law of Mrs. Anne Fischer of Manitoba. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, two grandsons, Mark and Donald and great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Henrietta Timm; her husband, Fred; a son, Roy; four brothers and one sister. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon Wednesday, transfer will be made to Kingsdale New Apostolic Church, Sixth Avenue, Kitchener, for funeral services at 2 p.m., with Rev. Richard Busch officiating. Interment Woodland cemetery.
