    DUNNINGTON, Kenneth William Passed away peacefully at Lanark Heights Long Term Care Centre on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Ruth Dunnington (nee Haynes) for over 66 years. Loving father of Adrienne Hawkins (Richard), Kathleen White (Peter), Margaret Dunnington, John Dunnington (Beverly) and Robert Dunnington (Marion). Special Grandpa to Pamela Richardson (Mark), Heather Hawkins (Hans), Eric and Angela White, Adam Bremner, Michael, Stephen, Sarah, Nicholas and Samantha Dunnington. Brother of Ruth Schlacter (Joe), Shirley Dobney (Harry), Jack Dunnington (Greta) and Alva Kalbfleisch. Special lifelong friend of Carl Metz. Predeceased by his parents William and Mabel (nee Carnochan); brother Douglas; and sisters Muriel, Jean, Marion and Audrey. Dad was a quiet, gentle man who loved his family and his country. He was a proud member of the RCAF during WWII and a member of Wing 404 in Waterloo. He had many stories to tell about WWII and even more to tell about his "terrific" grandchildren. Ken's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, September 2, 2010 (today) from 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. There will be a funeral Mass for Ken at St. Francis of Assisi RC Church, 49 Blueridge Ave., Kitchener on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment at Parkview Cemetery in Waterloo followed by a reception in the church hall.     DUNNINGTON, John (Jack) Leonard Jack passed away peacefully in his sleep at Parkwood Mennonite Home on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the age of 84 years young. Loving and devoted husband of Greta Joyce (nee Hartman) for 63 years. Loving father to Judy (Ian Lobban) and Janice (Randy Montag). Doting Papa to Jacqueline, Mark, John and Vanessa. We Love you, Papa! Remembered by sisters Ruth, (Joe), Shirley (Harry) and Alva (Ken predeceased). Jack was predeceased by his mother Mabel (nee Carnahan) and William Dunnington; brothers, Doug and Ken and sisters, Muriel, Jean, Marion and Audrey. Jack was employed by Smiles and Chuckles for many years and found his life's work as manager of Village One and Two at the University of Waterloo. Jack loved "His Kids" at the U. of W. He was an active Kiwanian. He loved working at Bingos and serving sauerkraut at Octoberfest. In the 1960's, he was a proud French horn player with the K-W musical Society. Special Thanks to Reverend Das Sydney and Hans for their Friendship. Many thanks to the Staff at Parkwood Mennonite, especially Brittany Lake for her comfort and care, particularly in his last days. To celebrate Jack's life a memorial service will be held at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel , 51 Benton at Church St., Kitchener on Thursday, January 2, 2014 with visitation from 10:00 am with service to follow at 11:00 am. with Rev. Diane Cunningham officiating. Loving mother of Lisa (Jim) Rowntree and Luann (Allan) Corlett. Special Nana to John and Dan Rowntree. Predeceased by her parents, William and Mabel Dunnington; sisters, Muriel, Jean and Marion and brother, Doug. Survived by brothers, Ken (Ruth) Dunnington and Jack (Greta) Dunnington and sisters, Ruth (Joe) Schlacter, Shirley (Harry) Dobney and Alva Kalbfleisch (and the late Ken Kalbfleisch) as well as members of the Paquette family. Audrey was a member of the Hanover Hospital Auxiliary and the Library Board. A Memorial Service will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Katharine Edmonstone officiating. Cremation will have taken place and a private interment will follow in Hanover. A very special thank you to the staff at Lanark Place for their excellent and compassionate care.
