    Notes:

    The death of Mrs. Catherine Stueck, widow of the late Engelhard Stueck, occurred last Saturday evening at the home of her son, Mr. George Stueck, in her 88th year. Deceased was born in Germany and came to Canada in 1818. The following year she was married to Mr. Stueck, with whom she had become acquainted when crossing the Atlantic. They lived at Preston a short time then settled on a farm in South Easthope west of Balaclava where they lived many years and where their family was born and raised. About thirty years ago they moved to Hampstead where Mr. Stueck died a little over three years ago. Since that time, Mrs. Stueck has made her home principally with her daughter, Mrs. J.G. Schmidt, on the Wellesley boundary north of here, and for the past few months at the home of her son, George, where she died. A slight stroke about two years ago weakened her health and a second attack recently was the principal cause of her death. The remains were laid away to rest on Tuesday in St. Jacob's (Lutheran) Cemetery, of which church she had for so many years been a consistent, highly respected member.[there are multiple errors in fact in the obit]

    Notes:

    Death of Mr. Jacob Stueck - The death occurred at the home of his son in North Easthope on Wednesday, March 27th, of Mr. Jacob Stueck in his 79th year. He suffered a paralytic stroke about five weeks ago from which he did not rally. The late Mr. Stueck was born near Fisher's Mill, in Waterloo Township but spent the greater part of his life in North Easthope where he farmed for many years. He was twice married. His first wife was Margaret Faulhafer, who predeceased him about 14 year ago. His second wife, Mrs. Krantz, died about five years ago. There are left to mourn his demise two sons and three daughters, namely, Mr. Peter Stueck on the homestead in North Easthope, Gordon, of Treelon ,Sask., Mrs. Christian Schamber of North Easthope, Mrs. Daniel Wettlaufer, of New Hamburg and Mrs. M. E. McQuarrie, of Abernethy, Sask. The late Mr. Stueck was well known and highly esteemed in the community and leaves besides his family a wide circle of friends to mourn his passing. The funeral will take place from the home of his son in North Easthope on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock to AIles' Lutheran Church and cemetery.

    NEW HAMBURG, April 25, - Peter Stueck of New Hamburg died at St Marys Hospital, Kitchener, Friday evening after ann illness of about ten days. He was born in North Easthope township, 78 years ago, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Stueck and farmed all his life there before retiring. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hamburg, and was formerly a member of North Easthope township council, for a number of years. He was also a member of the S.S. No. 2, North Easthope schoolboard and a member of the Lutheran church board of North Easthope. Mr Stueck was married twice. His first wife, the former Ida Stroh, died in 1911, and his second wife, Elisabeth Schamber, died in May 1951. Surviving are a son Allan, Kitchener; two daughters, Mrs. Blake (Selena) Hyde, R.R. 1 Bright; Mrs. Willard (Alma) Miller, Kitchener, a sister, Mrs. J.M. McQuarrie, British Columbia, and 13 grandchilderen. The remains will rest at the Futher-Omand Funeral home, New Hamburg, untill Mondayat 1: 00 p.m.; when removal will be made to Trinity Lutheran Church for a memorial service at 2: 30conducted by Rev. A.F. Ruehlow, pastor of the church. Burial will be made in Philipsburg Lutheran cemetery.

    GADSHILL Mrs. Conrad - Schmidt, 83, of RR 1, Gadshill, died today at her home.

    Born on Jan. 21, 1881, the former Margaret Amelia Duke, she was a daughter of the late George Duke and the former Elizabeth Wismer. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, North Easthope Township.

    Her husband, whom she married in Hampstead on Sept. 24, 1902, died in 1958.

    Surviving are two sons, Ad- Edison and John of RR 1, Gads- hill; two daughters, Mrs. Cecil (Pearl) Capling of Floradale and Mrs. Clarence (Margaret) Neeb of RR 1, Gadshill; one brother, Albert of RR 1 Gadshill; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son, Orlo, in 1960 and by one sister, Mrs. Theodore (Adeline) Capes of Toronto in 1963.

    The body is at the Futher Brothers Funeral Home. Funer al arrangements are pending.

    Schamber, John Robert - Suddenly, on Saturday, March 21, 1987, at his residence, RR 1, New Hamburg. John was born 86 years ago, a son of the late Christian Schamber and the former Catherine Stuek. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hamburg, He was a breeder and showman of prize winning Clydesdale horses and was also involved in Yorkshire swine breeding. Beloved husband of the former Adelia Knechtel. Lovingly remembered by one son, Clarence, at home and a daughter Carolyn (Carol) Fischer of St. Jacobs. Sadly missed by two grandchildren Gerald and Bradley Fischer, one brother Leslie of Tavistock and one sister, Mrs. Clara Schmidt of Milverton. Predeceased by one sister, Alice and two brothers in infancy.

    Mrs. Alice Schamber - Mrs. Alice Schamber, 64, of 145 King St. W. died Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Schamber was born in North Easthope Township and had lived in Kitchener for the past 26 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Surviving are four sons, Wilfred, Doon: Bruce, Bloomingdale, and Edgar and Cyril, both of Kitchener; a daughter, Mrs. James (Lee) Harnock, Kitchener; two brothers, John, Kitchener, and Leslie, Stratford; a sister, Mrs. Harry (Clara) Schmidt Milverton, 16 grandchildren and one great grandson. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where a service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday by Rev. Dr. H. W. Opperman. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery.

Born in North Easthope Township on October 10, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Conrad Schmidt and the former Margaret Stueck. She was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wellesley. Beloved wife of Clarence Peter Neeb, whom she married on June 8, 1938 in Wellesley and who predeceased her on March 19, 1968. Margaret was also predeceased by her son, Rev. Dr. John H.C. Neeb on December 28, 1997. Dear mother of Peter Neeb and wife Jean (Knechtel) of RR 3, Goderich and Catherine (Cathy) and husband Gerry Rehberg of Stratford. Loving grandmother of Mark Neeb of Grand Bend and friend Tina Murray of London and Matthew Neeb and friend Linda Ashton of Stratford. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Reta Schmidt and Frieda Neeb, both of New Hamburg and Margaret Mueller of Tavistock and many nieces, nephews and their families. Besides her husband, son and parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Addison Schmidt, Orlo Schmidt and John Schmidt; a sister, Pearl Capling; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Cecil Capling, Annie Schmidt, Grace Schmidt, Mary and Edwin Fleischauer, Henry Neeb, John Neeb, Verda Neeb, Myrtle Neeb and Herman and Florence Mueller. Relatives and friends will be received by the family at Greenwood Court Chapel, 90 Greenwood Drive, Stratford on Wednesday, August 4 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and at Heinbuck Funeral Home, 156 Albert Street, Stratford from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wellesley on Thursday, August 5, 2004 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Rev. Andy J. Schroth will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
