    Mrs. Angus Heimpel

    Mrs. Angush Heimpel of Heidelberg, the former Minerva Jacobi, died at St. Mary's Hospital Monday after a lengthy illness. She was 72.

    A native of Wellesley Township. she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Jacobi. Her husband died Aug. 2, 1968.

    Mrs. Heimpel was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Heidelberg.

    She is survived by one son, Walter of RR 3, Wellesley; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Shippanowski of Waterloo; one brother, Harvey Jacobi of Heidelberg, and nine grandchildren.

    Besides her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by one sister, Mrs. William (Alberta) Schneider.

    The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Wednesday when removal will be made to St. Peter's Church in Heidelberg where Rev. Arthur Horst will conduct a service at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

    WALTER WILLIAM HEIMPEL
    June 5, 1920 \endash June 30, 2008

    The family announces with sadness Walter's passing on Monday at the age of 88 years. He entered his eternal rest peacefully and comfortable at Leisureworld Caregiving Centre, Elmira. He joins his beloved wife Eva (Schott) of 54 years (1998). Loving father of Lewis (Sheila) of RR 3 Moorefield, Joyce Dewit (Cornel) of Val Caron, Murray (Carol) of Elmira, Claribell deVries of Kitchener, Kenneth (Gertie) of RR2 Listowel, Rosie Metzger (Ken) of RR1 Waterloo, Janet Waito of Kitchener and Frederick (Melissa) of Bluevale. Proud and living grandfather of 28 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Angus and Minerva(Jacobi) Heimpel; a sister, Helen (Herman) Shippanowski and a god-son, Richard Wagner. Lovingly remembered by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, cousins, many nieces, nephews and friends. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Leisureworld Caregiving Centre, Elmira, his home for the past year and Beechwood Manor, Waterloo, for the previous 6-1/2 years. Friends are invited to share their memories of Walter with his family at Erb & Good Family funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, July 3, 2008 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Heidelberg, on Friday, July 4, 2008 beginning at 1 pm, followed by the service at 2 pm with Rev. Olaf Poulsen officiating. Interment at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Heidelberg. A reception will follow the committal service.

    HEIMPEL, Murray Peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Grand River Hospital, at the age of 70 years. Beloved husband of Carol (Wilkie) Heimpel for 48 years. Dear father of Melissa and Jody Leis, Anton and Julie Heimpel, and Tammy Heimpel, all of Elmira. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Carter and Brevin Leis, and Sean, Erik and Lucas Heimpel. Brother of Lewis (Sheila), Joyce (Cornel) DeWit, Ken (Gertie), Kathryn (George) Stickney, Claire (Carl) Doerbecker, Rose (Ken) Metzger, Janet Waito, and Fred (Melissa). Fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and their families. Murray was very active in the Optimist Club of Elmira, and loved gardening and working with his hands. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Eva (Schott) Heimpel. At Murray's request, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral home visitation or funeral service. A gathering will be held at a later date.
